Cabover missed opportunity
Though i understand it's not in the US, it is still a brand new truck by Kenworth.
The new 2022 Kenworth K220 Cabover.

It's unlikely you wouldn't see one driving around in the US however.

And i know SCS said they wouldn't be adding older trucks, but where as this truck is new i think it's a missed opportunity to finely have a cabover in the game and not through a mod.

One word....licensing. And why would SCS want to license a truck that is not sold in the USA? That would be totally asinine I think.

There have been literally hundreds of discussions of people asking for trucks.

You wont see cabovers in ATS. They will only license truck models that are used in the US. You said it yourself it is not in the US.

And an even bigger issue than just not being from the US, it (like the rest of the Aussie Kenworths) is RHD only.

I know all the reasons why SCS wont do it.
That is a nice looking truck though.

The question would be, how do you narrow down the truck options to a reasonable ~half-dozen or so?
Kenworth K200/T610/T909, Mack Titan/SuperLiner, Volvo/Scania/Mercedes/DAF/MAN cabovers (can be carried over from ETS2 at least), Freightliner Cascadia/Coronado/Argosy (yes I know the Argosy and Coronado are now out of production but there are still tonnes of them around), many different Western Stars etc etc...

No they cannot carry over the trucks from ATS to another game. The licenses are for ETS2 only, they would have to go back to the manufacturers and get a license for the new game.

Was more commenting from a model perspective (since ETS2 also has RHD cabins they would be starting from a mostly complete base), obviously licenses would have to be dealt with.

ETS2 has also left lane traffic countries. Already now the United Kingdom, with Ireland, Malta and Cyprus not yet implemented. There is however none that can be reached by road or ferry from North American mainland, as there are no ferries to the Bahamas, Bermuda, etc. And by roaming the few street view roads on the Bahamas, I even found light commercial vehicles like Dodge Ram pickup or Chevy Express vans to be imported from the US with LHD cabs.
Was where i was going with the K220
Although it's not IN the US that doesn't mean someone or people wouldn't have one imported to the US at some point.
I have seen ETS2 trucks in the US driving around.

Also it's likely possible someone could make a special order and have it converted to a LHD K220 and have it imported.

The UK has Kenworth W900 and Peterbilt 389 among other US truck brands that were imported.

I've never seen European style over the road cab overs in the US outside of maybe a truck show or the like. I never saw one on the job. Closest I've seen are some box truck cabs. Even the US made COEs are harder and harder to find.

Not saying they don't (or haven't) exist(ed), just sayin' I never saw them. Another unicorn for me to find maybe. ;)

US Government Regulations would make it nearly impossible to import any vehicle NOT manufactured to US Standards for Safety and Emissions .. while there may be the very slightest of chances, it's likely not ever going to happen.

Importing would be difficult especially if you plan to use it comerically as they are not made up to the US standards for emissions and safetly. Different regulations in the USA then overseas.

And such grey imports are made by the real world user (the game player) and not by the real life manufacturing company (the game studio). Therefore go on and get yourself a mod...
