Be sure your graphics card drivers are up to date. If all else fails:
Copy and paste your game.log.txt file(do not copy the game.crash file) to pastebin.com and provide the link here in a reply. This must be from right after a freeze/crash.
If too big for one paste, make multiples.
Log is located at Documents/American Truck Simulator for a default install. If pastebin is not available in your country please use http://rentry.co and post the link to it. The page works like pastebin.
Please do not paste walls of text in messages/replies that contain the log info.
If this is yes then the issue is now known. Something with 4k is causing the game to crash.
Per Sudovak on the ATS Bug Threads:
"Thank you guys very much, I reproduced the bug now, I will make a report in a moment"
You can change your resolution values in the config.cfg file until this is patched.
To run 1440 for example:
uset r_mode_height "1440"
uset r_mode_width "2560"
1. Add -nointro to your launch options In steam
2. Edit your config file to launch in lower resolution
It seems that you may then be able to play in 4k for the session, but will likely need to use this manual fix again for the next session.
uset r_mode_height "2160"
uset r_mode_width "3840"
See above about my post or Madkine's with the workarounds.
What I remember before the game started crashing it was showing me a pop up about new items added to the inventory. I don't know what exactly it was, if it was something randomly added to game or after doing some achievement because I skipped this fast, but now I'm asking myself it this was what crashed my game. I never used mods and I even reinstalled my game and it was crashing all this time. I don't ven know how to find crash.log as it seems that times changed and I can't even find a separate folder for this game on my computer. It's rather that some files are all linked to steam folders.
