Fuel Stations & Fuel Planning
Hi, can i ask you guys for some tips re the above? I've seen some old "smart ass" posts that say you should never run out of fuel and that a good trucker plans his fuel stops etc.

Yes, all well and good, but how do you do that in this game? Just spent an hour of real time driving around looking for a fuel station, i had to take emergency fuel several times until i found a fuel station. So frustrating - am i missing something?

Thanks in advance.

I look at my fuel gauge and when it gets around 25% I start looking. For me there is no planning.
70% of all the highways have a fuelstation and towns and citys.

when i pick a route i open up the big map and look where the fuel are and rest areas and if i can i fuel close where i start

I generally fuel up when I have to rest. Which most of the time means that the only planning I have to do is planning for a rest stop which happens the moment I pick up the cargo. If more than one stop is needed I plan the next rest stop when I arrived at the current rest stop.
what view of your truck are you using?? as if you use cab view Keep an eye on fuel gauge.
as per planing Truck Only specs will tell fuel tank capacity and Range. (know your truck specs) with cargo range will decrece range. when you chose "Job" all the specs should be there. as per trucking as a Job most trucks full tank at beginig of days work. tank should be good for a 8hr drive in Game at 5 hr start looking "Map" M for fuel station
as with real life LOG Book you have to stop for lunch. when getting fuel log book. when flat tyre log book. when You rest log book . that is different from lunch.

So you can actually get that information from the map?

Or are you referring to the navigation system - in which case that only shows things in the immediate area.

In "real life" i know where the fuel stations are and if i don't, i can say "google, tell me where the nearest fuel station is"

Are you sponsored by the phrase "log book"?

Have you never opened the map? Of course you can see fuel stops etc unless you turned them off for some reason.

Yes, as do i, but that does not help if (and it happens) you dont come across any stations before you run out.

Same goes for the poster who said "check fuel gauge"

Really?

So what do you do IRL to prevent yourself from running out of fuel?

You should be looking well before you need fuel. And any time you rest near a fuel station, fill up.
