I49 and the entire Joplin area needs a complete redo. This is awful.
I don't normally complain about DLCs, in fact I never have in the literally almost 10 years I've been playing ATS, but the Joplin area and I49 are just plain bad. For starters, the most glaring issue is that I49 is represented as this winding curvy road all the way from Joplin to KC. What. It's almost entirely straight the entire way IRL. Why is it so curvy in the game? Second, Joplin itself is just a complete screw up. In the game yall have the Petro 44 exit as the exit to drive into downtown Joplin. Majorly wrong. You have I49 just end and you have to take I44 to continue onto 49. BL-44 is desolate, like all of joplin doesn't even exist. Then BAM you go over railroad and suddenly you're in downtown joplin as if the entire rest of the town was never built.

It seems that in your effort to make Springfield weirdly more detailed than even St Louis you left literally 0 room for Joplin. It's so cramped that you pushed the Petro 44 out of Missouri. I would love to know why Springfield is so massive and eats the entire area. Whoever you playtested with or worked with on this did you wrong allowing you guys to over represent SGF at the sacrifice of literally the entire rest of SW Missouri.

Important Edit:
I don't some understand just how important Joplin MO is to truck drivers, the state of Missouri, and even US history. Joplin is where Bonnie and Clyde got into a major shootout where they left behind a camera/film that led to the iconic photos of the duo. Joplin MO is where the most damaging and costly tornado ever happened on earth in May 2011. Joplin is home of CFI, a major trucking company that almost everybody in the industry recognizes. Joplin is home of the largest truck stop in the state of MO, the Petro 44. Joplin is a major trucking town and has been for a long time.

The literal representation of it in this new DLC can be described as some old midwestern town thats stuffed behind some trees with a truck stop.

Map scale is 1:20. Stuff has to be left out and condensed.
Well in that case I vote that when we get to Illinois we should put all the effort we can into Bloomington, make Chicago some background scenery with maybe a truck stop and 2 industries, and we can just make the rest of the state a bunch of loopy curvy highways to fill it in. That sound good?
You aren't the one who decides that.
But feel free to make a map mod that covers your needs.

Make a map mod to got it outdate in each map release is became so awful too. What reason to do that? Or what about criticize SCS for taking so long to release a relatively small state and expect a different choice on which cities to focus more on?
Whats problem do that? Always we lost all maps that we installed for that dlc´s. This is getting annoying. Stop to send flowers to them. We are paying.
then stop using mods and there won't be an issue. as always, it's mods causing issues, game itself is fine in vanilla.

also, as posted, SCS decides when things get released, how they will look and what it will be like overall. it's their decision, not ours. we are just players. if you dont agree with something, take it up with scs directly at forum.scssoft.com

Mod problems are personal problems, the game tells you that clearly enough already. If you can not take care of mods, you shouldn't use them in the first place.
As for criticism:
It is valid if you do it constructive. Just saying "You suck!" or "You too slow/lazy!" is not constructive.
If you think you can do better, go ahead and show it. Otherwise it is just hot air with nothing behind it. Yes, this includes the "too slow" argument.
And finally: No one forces you to buy DLCs. Especially not at launch day. Maybe learn something from it and wait for reviews and more extensive gameplay footage next time.

Either I'm simply not being clear enough in my messaging or others are just having trouble understanding me. The entire Joplin MO area looks nothing like Joplin. There is quite literally nothing about it that says "Hey you are in Joplin, ATS edition!" For one, the number of times I have had to drive an 18 wheeler through downtown Joplin on MO43 can't be counted on one hand because it's zero. In fact I have never seen an 18 wheeler come through downtown Joplin when I've been there on my personal time. Meanwhile, I have been into the east side of Joplin on Rangeline and 32nd street more times than I can count. That is quite literally where all the trucks are going in Joplin IRL. Theres multiple truck stops, a Kenworth dealer, multiple plants such as dog food and cereal. Trucks are all going either there or the caves in Carthage. None of the industry or truck stops on Joplins east side are in the game whatsoever. The protected highway built by MO (249/BL49) that continues off where 49 comes into 44 is missing, which also happens to be... where all the trucks go irl! That same road is what most trucks use to get to the caves when coming north on 49 because it takes straight to carthage to turn left to get to the caves.

So I reiterate. The way Joplin is represented in this DLC is complete nonsense. Especially considering the entire objective of this game is to be about trucking. As a very experienced CDL A holder and truck driver in the United States I think my opinion on this is pretty well grounded.

Sounds like someone should learn to create maps and make a $100 map mod of Joplin to me bud

He's go the same right to post as you. Your complaints are all being posted to entirely the wrong forum. Please go to the SCS forums and post there, not here.

The location for suggestions is on the wishlist thread at the SCS Forums:

******************************************************************************

This is the Steam player to player forum, NOT SCS, the actual game developers.

******************************************************************************

Sadly, nobody on here can "fix" anything in the game itself, we can only help and advise players.
These forums are NOT the official way to contact SCS, so any comment on here is unlikely to get any response from them.
All bug reports, suggestions, etc should be posted in the SCS forums. If it isn't reported there, it won't be fixed.

I assume, even though you hide your profile, you have some hours playing the game, so none of the new DLC should be a surprise, SCS have to make decisions, based on the scale and practicality of the game mapping, that leave vast amounts of places and details out of the DLC maps.
There cannot possible be enough locations and details included to satisfy every player, and what Bonnie and Clyde have to do with ATS will remain a total mystery. You seem to be expecting a one to one map associated with bizarre historical events, but that ain't going to happen any time soon. Not so much an "important edit" as total nonsense.

TL:DR Tell SCS not us. Don't like it, refund it.

I understand your frustration, but it really boils down to the size of the state and what a company from Eastern Europe is going to be able to "Represent" with the size of the map. SCS doesn't travel every road in a given state. They visit some major cities, look around and get a sense of it and rely on Google maps probably more than not. I mean when they finally get to Florida my home state I know for a fact I'm going to be disappointed, but seeing Florida is just under Missouri in size I know SCS isn't going to include a "Accurate" representation of the roads or the cities no matter how much I wish they would. Just my two cents,

Just imagine what it's gonna be like when they get around to doing Florida..
maybe if he stops blocking people who gives valid responses, then he might actually receive the message instead of just snarky comments
Sounds to me like they are basically just 'mailing it in' in recent states just to get them done. I'll save my money and continue using basic coast to coast mods. The Mexico mods are great and I use them far more now. If they can't be bothered to at least somewhat replicate what little they actually map out in their DLCs then I'm good.

Oh I know. To be honest I think SCS should consider stopping somewhere and just start looking into building a whole new game. Theres no way anybody is going to enjoy the north east especially. The drive from Boston to Richmond alone is like the equivalent distance of Houston to Dallas. If they don't do something about the scale then the north east US is literally going to be hilariously packed.
if you want something done in-game or game-related, post suggestions on the scs forum. that's the place the developers read, not this.
