I49 and the entire Joplin area needs a complete redo. This is awful.
I don't normally complain about DLCs, in fact I never have in the literally almost 10 years I've been playing ATS, but the Joplin area and I49 are just plain bad. For starters, the most glaring issue is that I49 is represented as this winding curvy road all the way from Joplin to KC. What. It's almost entirely straight the entire way IRL. Why is it so curvy in the game? Second, Joplin itself is just a complete screw up. In the game yall have the Petro 44 exit as the exit to drive into downtown Joplin. Majorly wrong. You have I49 just end and you have to take I44 to continue onto 49. BL-44 is desolate, like all of joplin doesn't even exist. Then BAM you go over railroad and suddenly you're in downtown joplin as if the entire rest of the town was never built.

It seems that in your effort to make Springfield weirdly more detailed than even St Louis you left literally 0 room for Joplin. It's so cramped that you pushed the Petro 44 out of Missouri. I would love to know why Springfield is so massive and eats the entire area. Whoever you playtested with or worked with on this did you wrong allowing you guys to over represent SGF at the sacrifice of literally the entire rest of SW Missouri.

Important Edit:
I don't some understand just how important Joplin MO is to truck drivers, the state of Missouri, and even US history. Joplin is where Bonnie and Clyde got into a major shootout where they left behind a camera/film that led to the iconic photos of the duo. Joplin MO is where the most damaging and costly tornado ever happened on earth in May 2011. Joplin is home of CFI, a major trucking company that almost everybody in the industry recognizes. Joplin is home of the largest truck stop in the state of MO, the Petro 44. Joplin is a major trucking town and has been for a long time.

The literal representation of it in this new DLC can be described as some old midwestern town thats stuffed behind some trees with a truck stop.

I think every single state DLC has one of these posts. It's never gonna be 1 for 1 close to reality, it's gonna be focused in some places. Joplin walks so the more interesting cities can run.

This is absolutely not the case here. St Louis barely even exists in this DLC. Seriously, go look at it. It's I44 and I70 converge with the city in the background. Thats it. They did nothing else.
Who cares :wfmerc:

I feel like we should have seen this coming with how poor Arkansas was. Like, I didn't really say anything but now I feel like I should. Missouri is equally as under cooked.

This is my part of the world. I am impressed with it so far. They nailed the Glenstone/James River Expressway exit in Springfield (and it's an odd one). If you go south on 65, Branson isn't really shown, but they nailed the bridge over Taneycomo and the old bridge over the highway right before it. I really couldn't believe they took the time to recreate that one. Yes, there's a lot of stuff that is cut out or condensed, but it's just not reasonable to perfectly recreate or include everything.

EDIT
I think with every DLC map they has come out so far there are things that left me scratching my head asking why, but there are others that are great.

It map scale, kid
kinda funny. but same routine as always i guess.

community demands more dlc's (preferrably as soon as yesterday), so scs creates more dlc's alongside their other projects (time pressure, deadlines and all that good stuff), then community complains about dlc's being poor quality. little vicious circle much?

Maybe so, I've come across broken traffic lights a couple times where the AI will blow the red light and crash into the player

Map scale is 1:20. Stuff has to be left out and condensed.

Well in that case I vote that when we get to Illinois we should put all the effort we can into Bloomington, make Chicago some background scenery with maybe a truck stop and 2 industries, and we can just make the rest of the state a bunch of loopy curvy highways to fill it in. That sound good?
doesn't sound good actually. especially since "we" putting in effort includes me, and the only effort i plan to put in is paying for some dlc's when they are being made available. i will leave the design, graphical works, game mechanics and testing to those who actually know about that stuff. it's my way of saying thank you for making this available to us. instead of complaining. if you don't like the content or if it's not up to your standards, you can always ask steam for a refund.
