How to set up 8 speed shifter?

Hello everybody, long time ATS2 player, first time poster. I am curious how I can set up an 8 speed shifter in ATS2? I want to set it up similar to my real life transmission which is a eaton rtof-11608LL. My transmission is like an 8 speed, but with 2 more reduction gears. Imagine you have a 13 or 18 speed, but you only split the low range and leave it in high for the rest of your shifts. That's basically how this transmission operates. How can I set this up? I'm currently shifting like it's a 10 or 15 against the dash and it messes me up, because every day I am used to going from 4 to 5 but instead I am going 5 to 7. Please help? Thank you.

This game only support 6+1 shifter configuration because only provides 6 slots for forward gears and 1 slot for reverse gear. For non 6+1 config, you can use unused gear(s) as another function such as handbrake or differential lock toggle.

This should work for you, make sure to read the whole description to set up the correct shift patterns (afaik, the 908LL is very similar to the 608LL, specifically the shift patterns):

If the truck you are using already has the transmission the shift patterns in the description of that mod are what you are looking for anyways

BTW, the game does support more than 6+1, but it requires manual editing of the controls.sii file and custom shift pattern files to achieve it (though there aren't many situations where you'd need it anyways)
