Keep in mind to use a vanilla profile before using it otherwise your game may crash, bug reports require a vanilla profile.

Oh boy.

Trailer and cargo mods will absolutely need to be reworked.

I understand the argument they use for PhysX but it couldn't come at a worse timing, seeing how Nvidia killed off 32bit PhysX on the 50-Series GPUs. I really hope they use the 64bit version of that but I have no idea how this works on systems without a Nvidia GPU. Is there some PhysX pre-installed? Does AMD ship that too? Will it force the current physics engine (aka Bullet) with that?
If it is the latter, then I don't see the point in it making it easier for them to do as you would then need to support two different physics engines.
I feel like they should have explained that part in much more detail.

Good question how it would be for 9070 and XT, though they are well known for finewine

PhysX is compatible with all GPUs, however, it won't use any hardware acceleration on anything other than nVidia. Unity and Unreal have been using PhysX for a long time. ;)

Question.

Why would you add a 32bit library into a game which runs on 64bit?

So if I understand you correctly here (and please do correct me if I'm wrong), this means there will be a performance difference (maybe just slightly but there nonetheless) between Nvidia and AMD/Intel GPUs due to that, right?

They're adding a 64-bit library.

IDK. That's why I would have loved to get more details on that. Right now it is nothing more than a "Oh, btw" in the patch notes.
And it is a reasonable question especially for/from those that are way less savvy when it comes to this.
While I am 99% sure they use the 64bit version of it I still would want official confirmation (again, due to recent events) and a treatment of that pretty big change in the same way that FMOD got.

If your nVidia GPU is set to allow it, then I would imagine so.

Thank you.

And yay, another setting people need to check (me included).
Ooops.....I used my own profile instead of a vanilla profile when I opened the 1.54 beta.

But I did find some new roads around truck washes that weren't there before like in Bakersfield by the Peterbilt dealership and the gas station that you quick travel to in the same city. Also one in Missoula, Billings and Great Falls Montana.

It should be on auto as default and recommended. Should select your NVIDIA GPU automatically.
If memory serves, I have an AMD card in my current rig but was nVidia only for a very long time, whether or not you install the hardware support for PhysX is an option on the installer.

Alright, this answers the PhysX support question:
https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=2017477#p2017477
Works on all GPUs. So that is good. Still not sure if AMD and Intel ship the latest PhysX version with their driver (also a good time as any to check if your PhysX version is the most recent one) so maybe that requires a separate download and install?¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, for anyone looking at that link: There is MASSIVE speculation about a file there that shows the US with some stuff in Canada and Mexico. However, please take it with a mountain of :steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty: and then consult with your doctor about your salt intake.
My opinion: Basically a draft, don't go and yell at SCS for not having stuff in there that you want to be in there. It is basically nothing more than concept art. There to give a rough idea but not representative of the final product.

The old system can still be used. Any mod based on SCS cargo files and trailer defs will need reworking, but those that were fully standalone should still work in theory.

Good news is it's not an issue. At worst you'll just get invisible cargo until mods are updated.
