base game questions
I love playing ETS2 and I'm considering buying ATS but I'm curious as to what states are in the game that you don't have to pay for. I am also curious if the map is larger than ETS2 and if its realistic to america in real life.

The base game includes California, Nevada, and Arizona.

The map scale is near identical to ETS2, 1:19. The actual size of the world I'd say is fairly close all DLCs included as of right now.

Califiornia, Nevada, and Arizona are free. California was just reworked (like Germany in ETS). The base maps might be about the same size, but beyond that, the ETS map is bigger with most of Europe released on DLCs.

...and to add to that: ATS does provide a different atmosphere that does a very good job at delivering a 'US vibe'. Sauerkraut and baguettes or hot dogs and hamburgers, pick your choice! 😁

Download the demo from Steam, it isn't up to date, but you'll get a good idea of what the game is like before you buy. If you're not in a hurry put the game on your Steam wish list and wait for an email telling you it is on sale at reduced price, same goes for any DLC you might want.
