Right Hand Drive vehicles
Does anybody know any mods for ATS that adds right hand drive vehicles to the game? Reason being that I'm from the UK, where we drive on the left and I've seen several posts about how people adjusting to left hand drive has affected how they drive in real life, so I'm not exactly keen to try it,

Learn to drive like Americans.
This may be what you need?

Works only in Euro Truck Sim (which is very cheap now.)

It is a base feature for ETS2 and pretty easy to change in the dealer or repair shop. However that doesn't do the OP any good as they specifically asked about right hand drive on ATS.

My advice to OP is to just get used to it. I have driven left hand drive around GB in ETS2 and found it weirder to drive on the left side of the road than if I drove a right hand control truck.

However if you're just really intent on it, I'm not aware of any mods that change the controls in existing trucks, but there may be mods of trucks with right hand controls (like for Australian trucking, etc.). I just never looked

Truckers and car owners go to europe all the time, and are able to change easily so i doubt those that say it affects them is true.

As a brit who can easily drive with left hand drive as well as my normal driving position in ets2 ( i drive both left and right hand), its not that hard to change

basically your doing the same actions, you know, looking at the road and looking at mirrors just the same
How about this, turn off traffic violations and traffic and drive on the wrong side of the road?

Unless you have an insanely immersive setup, I doubt you would end up hurting your driving ability IRL by driving on the "wrong" side in this game. The differences in vehicle, control scheme, handling, visuals, and even the local road designs and signage, mean that there are large noticeable differences.

there is a mod for aussie trucks (rhd) you would have to search for it , not 100% but im sure i seen a discord....also there is a group on facebook....good luck

I can change to RHD in ATS.
I use Filmora video editing software, I just upload the video and reverse the picture and there you have RHD

However, the catch here is that all the advertising signs are in reverse, and it is pretty dam hard to edit the video and chop out the reverse signs and have a fluid video, but, it is possible.

Just mucking around with the software and it does look realistic, but you have to be committed........

Aussie here and was getting impatient on waiting for the Australian release which might happen sometime before I die.........lol

Wow, I missed that part of the OP!

I have never seen anything like that (not expected to be taken seriously anyway). If they are having issues with IRL driving from playing a game then they should perhaps seriously cut back on their gaming.

Come to think of it, maybe people I see dodging around traffic in opposite lanes and running red lights IRL play too much GTAV. ;)

As a real life German and ETS2 British I would consider this pure nonsense. Have now 5 digit miles in ETS2 with RHD trucks and no real life issues.
Not even more logical ones have happened to me, like spray-washing the windscreen instead of indicating right (because in both truck sims I have indicators on the shift paddles) or so.

Maybe with VR there may be a risk. Otherwise the surroundings are too different to cheat on your subconciousness.

That seems a bit silly and dramatic lol... I've driven right handed in Asseto Corsa and it doesn't impact real driving, if anything, has made me a bit more aware.

I will say though, I have a Thrustmaster T248 wheel and use the RB / LB bumpers for blinkers and have hit those buttons when driving IRL when going to flip a quick blinker and end up changing my song instead :WH3_skragHapp:

If your IRL driving is affected, I would suggest that you are not a very experienced driver IRL. I regularly drive LHD and RHD vehicles both in game and IRL with no issues (I've been driving for 30 years). I do prefer LHD, even in the UK.

i prefer rhd even when driving in europe or middle east (in real life) because of the junction setups and dubious roundabouts that they construct using the dutch approach
