Tires.
I have a lot of hours in this game and all this time I thought the tire brands were generic, as in fictional. Then I got the DLC for Goodyear and Michelin which got me interested in doing a bit of research.
It turns out they are not fictional but real with Roadmaster being one of the better selling tires around the world. And Vortex has an amazing lineup of accessorizes to trick out your cars and trucks. Bit of useless trivia but I thought some of you might like this little tidbit of information.

Truck on!

Thanks for the info, every bit counts and adds up! :104:
At my next service stop I´ll have to check what´s in stock, my default Dynamix tires are starting to lose their grip.
Keep those wheels spinning!:mashyourmotor:

Is there any difference in performance, or fuel savings? Or is just about the look of the tire.

I go around 10-15%, about when the weigh stations start crabbing about my truck condition.

Cool. I guess my 30% is a bit much.

ETS2, yes. Each tyre has rating for fuel consumption, rain performance, and rolling noise. Unknown in ATS, as these ratings do not display.

Well if you go by cost Vortex are the best, even better than the DLC Goodyear or Michelin. The better tires do seem to be a little quieter to me. But in the long run I don't think it really matters that much.

They might matter in the rain, though.

Did some testing with the rain chance cranked up. The Vortex are a little better in the rain. DLC Goodyear are good too.
As far as noise I can detect no difference between any of the tires. Its the truck itself which seems to make a difference. Example the Mack Pinnacle is really loud {truck noise up engine turbo and exhaust turned down} were the Western Star is whisper quiet.

I've been using the Frosty weather mod in ETS2 and I have an Iveco Stralis with tyre wear at 82%, I've never replaced them. It's fun in the snow :steamhappy:

This December, do all that, including the wear and mod, then visit the Winterland. Try the frozen lakes.
Dan McNarry on YouTube (Goggles56) did a good job testing tires. ATS 24.5" Wheel Pack Wet Weather Tire Test
