As far as the Darien Gap is concerned, there are vehicle ferries in real life, and you will be pleased to know SCS already knows how to implement ferries in the game. ;)
Being from the east coast, it's the Cape May-Lewes ferry I am anxious to see. It's good to know they'll be able to do it easily when they get all the way east.
You're absolutely correct! It is American Truck Simulator and they most assuredly use American trucks in South America. ;)
https://www.statista.com/statistics/830794/number-truck-registrations-brazil-brand/
That is a strange "statistics" site, indeed. I went to see if they had comparables for all the SA countries but they don't. Oddly, they mention several countries, but in each is a differing statistic with no overlap of that particular statistic for ANY other country. And then they throw Mexico at the bottom of the list where, incidentally, Freightliner was/is the leading commercial brand.
Obviously idk the numbers, but it's my understanding that the truck brands we have in game are mostly sold in the US (obviously :-) , Canada and Mexico, and maybe a few Central American countries where their market share may be higher than trucks from elsewhere, but the majority of truck sales in South America is most likely from European or Asian manufacturers.
What map.. shows Brasil... located in America ?
Cause my maps shows the country of Brasil located on a different continent.
Every map does that.
I can show you a map of America in The Netherlands though that doesn't have Brasil:

If the predominant trucks being used in SA are European, then no, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to push the game that far south, but certainly Mexico, Canada and, I have no doubt, other Central American countries use American trucks and so those locations wouldn't be out of place for using our American trucks.
