Any significant updates to the rendering engine since 2019?
Had a blast playing this nearly 6 years ago, but I've always had gripes with the rendering engine. Everything was always so blurred, splotchy, and pixelated. Is it any different now? I'd like to know that they've updated to a modern engine so that I can play again with crisper graphics.

Not sure about the engine itself but the graphics have improved significantly and satisfyingly outdated a few graphic overhaul mods I had.

There were quite a few renderer changes in the 1.50 update, including far shadows and soft particles.

A ton has changed in that time.

The engine is still the same.
