Lost connection to WoT... no notification, lost progress
I was trying to turn in a completed winter event contract, had just finished delivering/unhooking the trailer. The little window saying "Synchronizing with World of Trucks" was spinning and spinning for almost 10 minutes, so I hit escape and saw that my connection was lost. I thought, "fine, I'll just re-connect, no problem." Upon reconnecting and resuming the delivery... I was back only 5 minutes after picking up the trailer. WTF.

Is there any way to resolve this, get my progress back? Or am I out 2 hours of my life with nothing to show for it?

Did your net go down? - that would cause that

That was very likely the last time that your progress got synced with the WoT server. So no, you won't get it back.

Not sure how that would have taken you 2 hours anyway as these event contracts are very short and doable within 15 minutes.

Took me from Denver to Houston, took me about 2 hours to complete. 1.75 hours maybe. If I'm at the whim of the WoT servers every time I take an external contract, and there is no notification or anything when I lose connection... then why ever take WoT contracts? Driving for literally zero gain doesn't seem right.

Nope, it was a purely WoT-related issue.

Its unusual for it to be that long, normally syncs occur much more frequently (every 5 mins or so).

But yes WOT contracts are online contracts, so you are at the mercy of connection and servers, but normally they are very reliable.

I disagree completely with the premise of your question Mystic as it implies that ALL WOT external contracts end in a lost connection ("literally zero gain") which is a monumental misrepresentation of the reliablity of the WOT servers (for as Madkine points out "normally they are very reliable").

I'd be truthful and admit it if there was some kind of 'regular' issue with the WOT servers, but in my experience there is not as I have never - not a single time - experienced a WOT disco upon job completion in hundreds of hours played.

Do 10 more external jobs then come back and tell us how many of them didn't count because you got disco'd from the WOT servers at job completion. My bet is 0, unless of course there is a problem with your hardware, connection, or ISP (which is not a WOT issue).

Here's to better days and the hope that it doesn't happen to you again. :104:

Under normal circumstances you receive a message on screen (in the Route Advisor?) telling you that the connection has been lost. I always drop out of the cabin at that point and use both the in game job panel and the WoT server status to tell me whether there is a general issue (the server is down) or one specific to me. I don't resume driving until things get sorted, whether that be centrally or locally.

NOTE that I don't believe I've ever had a case of a silent WoT disconnection caused by anything other than the normal maintenance window (when I am often playing) or my anti-virus (AVG and Avast have both caused me significant pain in that regard). Server failures are a very rare beast.

Sorry to say if the servers don`t sync - you have lost the progress
I suspect you didn't notice the message about the WoT connection being lost. When that happens (usually due to an Internet drop on the user side), immediately quit to the main menu and then try to re-establish the connection to WoT. Once connection is established, continue from the last synchronized point, which only results in a minor time loss. If it drops connection, I don't trust it will properly re-establish, if you continue driving.

I've done almost 400 deliveries and 140,000 km on WoT, and I've never lost the connection without being notified. Maybe it will happen one day, but based on my own experience, I'll continue using external contacts with little worry.
mine did that right after delivery... WOT shows I made the delivery, my game however, isnt showing any XP or money from it... got my annoyed
