Full USA map on base game?
I don't want to buy each state of USA as DLC. I want Full USA map in the base game, don't do like ETS2 first going east DLC and scandinavia DLC. So can I expect full USA on the base game??

It would be nice to have the whole USA but will it take three years to do it all ?? Based off of google maps ?

The exact delivery model is not entirely clear at the moment. What is clear is that the initial release will only be part of the USA (California and some neighboring areas). Over a year ago they suggested that they might make it a cheaper "Early Access" where new areas would be added every couple of months, but nothing definitive as of now.

you will have to buy additional areas through dlcs... so no full usa map in base game.

Some official word really would be nice, I'd expect Canada and Mexico to cost more. But the USA, since that's what the game is about, should be fully included in the base game. Even if added over time. No real excuses here to do it any other way.

What you want and what you'll get are completely different. They won't make the game with the entire U.S. as base game because it takes a whole Hell of alot of work to do that, and they should be/need to be compensated for that work. Don't like that OP, don't buy the game.

Also, remember that the full USA is about the size of 25 Scandinavia DLCs. What price would be fair for that? Would you actually be willing to pay it all at once? This is quite an ambitious project. I don't actually think they can get through it on a single game price to be honest. Not unless they can get GTA5 sales numbers.

Each new state will be added as DLCs ROFL. How r3tarded would that be ?

I do not see a problem with DLC model as this not game in traditional sense and building the USA will take 5 to 10 years. Eurotruck been out two years they are still working on adding content. Still, be cheaper than people spending money on flight sims. Modders will provide free add ons, but some modders will require DLC as time goes on.

All of the US at launch? Doubtful. Especially seeing how just months ago they were barely scraping into Nevada. One could assume the possibility of ATS taking the Early Access approach and slowly adding to the map over time, hopefully for free.
As for Canada and Mexico, those I guess would be DLC at some point, similar to ETS2's Going East and Scandinavia.

I thought I saw only California at lauch and Arizona if you order the boxed version but then again, it could of been SCS getting ahead of themselves. I wouldn't mind the whole U.S. in seperate expansions. That would be an expansive "game world."

I think they will start with Arizona, California, and Nevada and may expand up to Oregon and Washington later. Not sure.

The original game title was "ATS California", then later on thru the process they gave the additional confirmation that it would be California with Arizona free to boxed buyers and it being DLC to digital users. Then they dropped the whole Arizona thing entirely lol. Then they dropped "Claifornia" from the name. Now it looks like the opening package will be California and "some" surrounding areas (likely Las Vegas, Reno, Flagstaff, Pheonix,Tucson and the Grand Canyon. But if they do this it would make for an ackward shaped beginning map but that is probably meaningless. My guess is this, Opening game will be Southern California up to just south of SanFran across to Vegas then to the Grand Canyon south toPheonix and Tucson. From a geography standpoint it is pretty close to the original europe map before DLC's, plus dropping "California" from the official name tells me either another state will also be included(unlikely) or that NOT all of California will be included (more likely). But opinions are like rearends......

Oh and forget about getting an "official" response hehe that will never happen ntil they are ready which probably isn't right now hehe. SCS is tighter lipped than a .....well you fill in the rest.

The release date has been bouncing; first August of last summer (2014), then February 2015, then December 2015, then August 2015 (was I spotted on Excalibur's website. On Excalibur, it was saying that Arizona and Nevada would be included but then taken off. Hey, I',m all for delayed release if not ready especially since what Ive seen in pictures; this game looks great. If it's the same developers from Euro Truck Simulator 2; it's going to be awesome!

Still hoping we can get out of our trucks and mingle in the game world lol. Would be great if on a trip, we can stop at a truckstop and get go in the hotel or food area or pump the gas or go in the casino :)

All those release dates (and the pretty much everything Ace mentioned above) were invented by Excalibur. SCS has always said that they would announce it on the blog if it was decided and not to believe anything from other sources.
