Is there a campaign end game to this?
How do you know you completed all the missions? or seen everything the game has to offer? - also, how long is the base game?

Also, when is the right time to buy the expansion/dlc? Thanks!

There are no missions. You get a read of the percentage of roads that you have driven while on the world map. The base game does not have a length. There are sales quite frequently, perhaps every 6 weeks, I think that one just ended recently.

Thanks for the answer. I meant how far in the game should I reach before buying dlcs?

When you feel like a change of scenery (for map DLC) or want a different challenge (for cargo DLC). Remember, this is a simulator, there is no objective or endgame.

DLC's immediately add territory, and thus variety, to the game, so sooner is always better, balanced against your budget :cozybethesda:

There is no length to the game, it is never ending. A lot of people play it to just have a relaxing drive delivering stuff to places and seeing the scenery.
There is no limit to your level number but I think there is a top level description and once you reach that it stays the same even though your level can still increase.

Steam achievements will notify you in game when you complete a part and when you complete the whole achievement. Some achievements are best achieved with just the base game without any map DLCs. Other achievements are only obtainable by having the relevant map DLC. Some achievements are obtainable by having a particular DLC, for example Special Transport DLC, these achievements are easiest obtained with the DLC and just the base map as adding other map DLCs increases the number of jobs you have to do because it now has jobs in the new map to do as well. I recently completed all the Special Transport jobs with all map DLCs currently available and it was if I remember something like 33-34 jobs I had to do.

You can drive all over the map(s) and it highlights in yellow/gold colour to show where you have been, eventually get 100% of map/road coverage. There is no achievement in ATS for this but there is in ETS2.
Even though you have driven on all the roads it does not mean you have seen it all only all the roads. Sometimes it is just good to pull over go to an external view and look around at the scenery.

The newer map DLCs have a greater level of detail and are not so generic as the original base map and the early DLCs. SCS are re-working some of the early map areas, so they do get changed and up dated.

So you have to decide yourself when is the best time to get the DLCs depending on what you want to do within the game, sorry I cannot give you a definitive answer.

are the quick jobs randomly generated? or are there finite amount and always the same?

Quick Job / Freight Market jobs are randomly generated, while Cargo Market jobs are only partially random as they depend on the trailer you currently have attached to your truck at the time (e.g. if you have a flatbed, Cargo Market jobs will only be for flatbeds).

There is an infinite number of all jobs.

I have about 2300h in ats and ets. I haven't reached an end yet. Still on the search for the final road with the Big Boss. They say it's a giant 600t dumper. :)

In terms of paid $ per played hour this is my cheapest game. By far.

Quick Jobs (and the Freight Market jobs, since they are identical) are randomly generated, but there is a finite number of jobs at any one time (which varies based on the maps you have installed - it is dependent on the number of company depots and the number of slots the yard prefab has for generated jobs. The total number of jobs available fluctuates somewhat because some slots are randomly left empty). The job offers expire and are then replaced by new jobs for randomly generated cargoes to randomly chosen destinations. Rinse and repeat ad inifinitum
