What is the best website for ATS mods?
I asking this because i was thinking of adding this cool mod but there are a lot of dangerous viruses on these websites.

Only download from the official SCS forum and Steam Workshop.

Any other website is at your own risk of 1) Having a really bad mod that is most likely outdated 2) Getting a virus

3) it's a stolen mod

Aside from the before metioned there's also Truckymods, some modders use it as another option to the existing ones, some only post on Truckymods.

Steam Workshop, Truckymods, and Google Drive, but some modders do have their own website through wordpress etc, like promods's Canada map. While for others you might have to do some digging, especially if they are in another language.
What cool mod are we talking here if you don't mind me asking?

Ask 5 people and get 8 answers. I usually avoid workshop mods as you don't have control over their updates and they can screw up your profile at least temporarily if not forever due to their different speeds of update or a modder suddenly deciding to stop working on the mod. Yes, there are ways to make them local, but it needs to be undone and redone for every update.

For external mods I mostly use atsmods.lt and a reliable adblocker. The latter is also needed for downloads from the SCS forum because usually the same hosting sites are used.

I understand your first reasoning for not using Steam mods, but atsmods.lt (and most if not all like it) hosts stolen mods, which is one of a few reasons modders keep their mods private, it certainly was one of the reasons i removed all my mods from Steam once.
Those stolen mods aren't neccessarily better profile safety wise, an update is often just a version change, or minor things changed that can just as well break your save.

Either way, you still need to update your mods, wheter it's downloaded ones, or copies you made from Steam to a local folder and at least from the Steam workshop you know where to find them on your pc (from the same author), no add blocker needed, with the dodgy websites you can never be sure to find a properly updated version.
The more people that use those websites, the less chances of keeping good mods (free) for the community.

Okay, you have to look out what you download there and avoid the "usual suspects". I agree. However, it is a "one stop download" for those that are clean, which makes it convenient. Otherwise there are 100 individual websites and SCS forum threads to look for. Work after download is pretty much the same, yes. But work until they are all downloaded is maybe one third.

Edit. Please Support the modding community and "Not" 3rd Party Web Sights have stolen mods. Paid from ever click of the mouse. "Your Choice".

Steam Workshop. Other mods not in the Steam Workshop. Always ck the developer of a mod. Times when that takes a bit of research. Any questions please ask in the forums. A number of members will direct you to the mod developed by the mod author.
Example SCS Forums. Then use the mod developers link to down load. Paid mods. Use the developers web sight and down load link.

SCS Forums. Suggest you become a member. Wealth of information as well as support. Once again "Your Choice".

Have A Grate Day.

When you want to get mods then avoid these people as they are known mod thiefs:
Renenate
Mods82
Guest
Cruiser

Also avoid the map mod from KDog as it is also stolen content of multiple map mods that just got mashed together and reuploaded without permission.

There is no stolen content on TruckyMods unlike other third party sites that just leech everything.

I personally only get my mods from the Workshop, Truckymods, or from the author links on the SCS Forums, even if they upload the mod to a known malware site such as sharemods.
