Mods/things that allow you to drive regular cars?
Now, I know you're going to say something like this is American *Truck* Simulator. But still, i think it would just be kinda fun to drive around in a normal car just for the hell of it.

Only the three hundred thousandth person who can't use "SEARCH" :steamfacepalm:
Only cars available are mods, and they drive the same as a truck. So much fun. :steamsad:
BTW, you're absolutely correct, it is a *TRUCK* simulator.

I just don't get it, why would want to drive a car with truck physics?, there are tons of racing games and others with just cars as the base game. As far as I know cars don't weigh eighty thousand pounds and handle like it.

Only the three hundred thousandth and one person that complains that people can't use "SEARCH".

The cars do handle like a truck but accelerate much faster. Have fun.

At least I answered the OP's question honestly and helpfully.
You, on the other hand...:steammocking:

I know why some want a car. Nice change of pace. Ever truck drivers go on vacation and take road trips. Why not take advantage of the awesome game world. Car racing games are for racing, not chilling out. Plus racing games do laps over the same route 100+ times. Not the same as driving in around in a scale of the states while seeing the sites. No deadlines to meet.

If modders can make trucks physics less stable, adjust for icy roads etc... then modders could make a car drive with less cabin movement. I'd like a motorcycle. I see a Motorcycle sim is being worked on, but the shots they showed of it doesn't look as good as ATS imo.

I just got a 1956 F-100 pick up with mini trailer. Taking the weekend off. leaving my 1st hire in charge of the shop. ;)

The challenges go far beyond cabin movement. The physics that you associate with cars is not even in the game, and so not available for modders to use. All that can be done is "little trucks", and what's the point of that, when big trucks seem to do so well?
Well, partly I can understand it... I also would love to have, let´s say, a Forza Horizon with a large world like ATS or ETS2 have, just to drive around for hours without knowing the entire map after an hour :)

On the other hand, this game´s engine is just not suited for car physics, all the mods I tried just don´t cut it..

and thus I can only agree to the statements above: sorry, this is a truck game...

If I find something fun, I just do it and don't worry about physics. Physics is coeffiecients of friction, launch angles, viscosity. A different part of the brain processes that than the part that says this is fun. Some of you are doing to much math when your driving. :P

Or perhaps some are too worried about the look of the dashboard and how far above the ground the driver's seat is. Whatever.

I know it doesn't help much, but you could drive vans and cars in their older truck simulators. It would be a neat feature to bring back, bit gimmicky but I can live without. But yeah, like has been said, if mods can come along and add appropriate physics, then that would be nice. That being said, being able to drive smaller lorries of different types would be nice as well, you'd still be doing deliveries but in something much smaller.
