Audio or another setting?

Mine does and my wheel rumbles as well when I missshift.
In game Options/Controls there is an option for advanced gear shifting you can activate the grinding there.

I'm learning how to double clutch (need console to enable it) and the firsts days, oh boy did I grinded that poor box

Simple+Warning Sounds or Advanced Shifter Layout setting needs to be enabled

Use Advanced Manual Gear Shifting. It activates better grinding noises than "Simple + Warning sounds."

You'll have to double clutch, although with practice, you can shift clutchless if you hit the right rpms. It's a nightmare at first, but once you get used to it, it's the only way to play.

Can you explain double clutch?

When you shift to the next gear, you press clutch pedal, when on neutral release the clutch pedal, press it again, then go to the next gear.

This stops the input shaft, I believe, which let's you go into gear. This is how you operate a non synchronized gearbox.

Once you get a feel for how it operates, you don't even need the clutch to shift. You just learn the speed and rpms for every gear.

basically a real truck has whats called a clutch brake,it stops the gears in the transmission from turning when the clutch is all the way to the floor,so you use that to start/shut off engine, and when parked to put it in gear from N,thats the only time you use the clutch brake, when the truck is moving,if you push then clutch to the floor the clutch brake engages, stopping the gears from turning,so that causes the truck to slow down and stall,to shift it without the clutch brake engaging you push the clutch a few inches to halfway down,so since in a real truck double clutching is needed, its get the truck moving, clutch to N clutch to gear gas,to upshift timing is needed,to get it watch the RPMs and listen to engine, knowing math helps,so say your driving a 10-speed,you add the numbers to know the right gear for that speed,so if you wanna go 25MPH from a stop or slowdown add 2+5 thats the gear you need that would make 7th gear,to downshift use the brake to slowdown, clutch to N rev the engine to pop the RPMs up clutch to lower gear,so since ATS didnt add the clutch brake in game then push the clutch all the way down, until its added, and eben if i dont enable it,it works anyway,i shift it both ways, like a car and double clutch,im not good at floating it,in game not sure why

:steamthis: there is a console command for clutch break in game.

since 1.39 g_clutch_brake

I can't tell if it works as a RL one or if it's functional at all.
