Lost profile after update

I played 40+ hours with on mods but some official DLCs. Today the game ask me to update to latest version before I could play. So I updated, only to find the previous savings are all gone. Anyone has the same issue? I still have the record from their world truck website and I can login, but in the game the only option is to create a new profile and register a new account.

Go to you document folder and open the ATS folder. Go there to the latest backup folder (ending with ".bak") and copy the contents of it into the profiles folder.

Thank you for the help but it does not work. There is no .bak file on my disk after the update. I think the update must deleted them. Now even though I sign in to WoT, the game keeps asking me to sign up for a new account. So weird.

Try creating a new profile and reach the point where it's letting you drive the truck. Then exit out of the game and relaunch the game. Had this issue of my profile missing earlier and that fixed it for me.

Yes but after I copy the saving file back, the game still fail to load them. Saying something like the saving file is broken. But now I think it is one drive's problem, not the game's.

More likely the save game is affected by a mod that's not compatible with 1.46 (even if it's been uninstalled).

Also make sure you create a new profile with a random name (not the same as your old profile) and complete the first job. I have heard sometimes old profiles or backups will not load properly unless you have created an active profile through the game itself first. I do not remember where this applies, but is worth trying. Once you have successfully reinstated your old profiles, the new one can be deleted.

Important Note - If the new and old profiles have the same name, this can cause issues, and may end up with one profile being deleted, which means you may loose the one you want to keep.
