External mods not showing up
I wasn't able to find any answers to this, so I'm not sure if I'm doing a dumb mistake but I decided to ask here.

I bought ATS from Steam recently. Mods I install from Steam Workshop show up in the Mod Manager and work perfectly fine. However, mods that I download from external sites (then extract and put the SCS file into Documents\American Truck Simulator\mod) do not show up in the mod manager. This issue has been happening for multiple mods as well as if I try to add profiles.

I've already tried verifying game integrity. Not sure if this has anything to do with Steam cloud sync. Let me know if I should try reinstalling or removing Workshop mods. I am utterly confused.

Are you sure the folder is named mod and Not mods. ??? Workshop mods are installed in a different place than mods you add yourself.

I can confirm the folder is called "mod" and not "mods"

I presume the file you put into the mod folder has .scs on the end of it ???

or .zip

If anything else it needs to be unpacked. I use 7-zip for this.

Yes I unzipped it using WinRAR and put the .scs files into mod folder. I can try putting the .zip file if that'll help.

Also, any way I can attach a picture into the discussion?

What location is the mod folder? It does not go to the Steam directory for ATS.

Mod folder should be placed in Documents/American Truck Simulator.

Anywhere else is not going to work.

Here is how to post a screenshot in your reply:

Go to Your Profile. Click on Screenshots. Click on Upload Screenshots. Choose which one to upload.

Once uploaded, refresh your screenshot page. Open said screenshot. Copy the link at the top. Will be like this: https:// steamcommunity. com/sharedfiles /filedetails/?id=??????????

Spaces were added to the above link to prevent Steam from showing a picture. The ?????? refers to the ID number of the picture.

Did you get them to work? My brother has the same issue. Worked for me though.
