When should I buy my own truck?
I've playing ATS for a while now, and I was wondering when I should buy my own truck. Should I take out a loan, or save up to buy one outright. I currently have 87k dollars so I think I'm starting to near a decision point.

You could always use modded trucks, some are cheap, like Viper's 389. Normally cost 50 000 dollars

You don't want a loan hanging over you head in the game or in real life either. You'll need about $120 thousand in your account to get one of the cheapest trucks. I just kept doing deliveries until I had enough to buy one.
Sometimes / often a loan is cheaper.
Example 1 in ATS you get way more money if you drive with your own truck. Risk of damage to the vehicle is on you.
Example 2 in RL buy a house is always often cheaper than paying the rent for a landlord. Risk of damage to the house is on you.

Bank loans in game are paid back with a daily payment, the first payment is at 12.00 the day after you take out the loan. The following payments are made 11hrs 59 minutes later. So every day your payment is made to the bank one minute earlier.

If you decide to take out a bank loan, then remember to keep enough money to cover any driving fines or damage plus fuel and any other costs like truck upgrades or accessories. :104:

Taking out a loan in the game is cheap to do and a loan is easier to pay off when you have a level of skills that make your income better than at the start of the game. Time spent building a bank account with a credit balance is not wasted as it gives you a cash cushion.

Thanks, I think I might do a loan then.

100% do it however you like, my suggestion if you are going to take out a loan to get your truck: Build up some skills to help you make more money per load before you do so.

also, just so you know... the 389 pette and 900 kenny get the most powerful engines and the mack has the weakest piece of crap... atleast in my experience
