The only thing i noticed was that there was a police car in the Las Vegas scene. It would be interesting to see that implemented.

I don't know how often the police patrol in Europe but they will frequently patrol long stretches of roads waiting for someone to do something stupid (irl in USA).

i.e. Me speeding like a bat out of hell going 80 MPH in ETS2

That would be awesome xD A cop car on my ass with its lights on signaling me to pull over. Then I pull over and get fined. Then cop moves away. It would be more realistic than just getting an annoying BEEP BEEP as a fine.

If it got put into the game, I imagine it would be a short time freeze with the truck pulled over to the side of the road and maybe an hour or so passed in-game.

They did have cops chasing you in 18 wheels of steel convoy, somtimes you could out run them, if you got caught you would have to pay a fine

If this was a feature, I would also like there to be a way to disable it. Probably just a matter of editing the ini file. I don't mind some realism, however sometimes things are less than perfect and you may end up getting fined a lot for minor things.

This feature was present in 18 wheels of steel, if I remember correctly :)

I would like to see cops implemented like 18WoS Haulin'. They were there, but would leave you alone if you weren't speeding, being reckless, or running red lights. A nice touch would be to see them pulling over those little sports cars that sail past your rig. Kinda like real life.

I didn't like them in Rig n Roll, as an idiot AI car would bump into you and the cops would come flying at you, then you're at the cutscene where they're holding a gun to your head. Kinda like a bad movie.

It depends in South Dakota and Wyoming they use aircraft to tag speeders and call highway patrol to nab them as not enough people in the state to patrol at a level like Minnesota or Iowa can because of far lower population density.

The trucks should do 65 mph instead of 50mph in ETS 2 as maxium speed. Police cars should be like haulin where you follow the rules they leave you alone if you are constantly speeding the potiental for visit from the cops goes rises if 10% over the speed above limit above 60 mph.

I used to drive truck and D.O.T. is the main "cops" for pulling over trucks. Truckers(most) are businessmen and their truck is a rolling business with many, many laws to follow that a normal cop doesn't have the proper knowledge to enforce. They do still pull over trucks ofc but the whole D.O.T aspect would be cool to implement in game.

Louisiana is a good example of how messed up it could get. They pulled all kinds of permit BS on me one time when I first started running the road. Luckily I was in a company truck and they had to pay for all the violations.

California is super strict on what you bring in, like one time I had a little bit of dirt on the back of my trailer and they almost made me unload my whole trailer because of it. This is because they have big issues with foriegn species(of any kind) entering their state and messing up their agriculture, which one measly bug can multiply and wreak havoc on a new environement.

jeez, i thought i was unlucky, here in oregon it's quite a police state to be honest despite us having more civil liberties than the rest of the "doing it wrong" (sales tax) states, either way, we have so many extra cops that when they pull you over for speeding it's usually two cars minimum (they ride one to a vehicle so not as bad as it could be really) but realistically 4-6 just to justify to our government their continued useless existence, the main thing to watch out for with our pigs though, sitting right behind a bush, sign or anything that hides them well just a few feet off of the road.

i hate bored cops.

[edit] @bucstomp we hate californians enough for moving here only to ♥♥♥♥♥ about constant rain, they're that strict because we added a new pest to the state via some fruit coming from california, now the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ things are almost taking over in some places, i'm not saying they should hassle you, but they at the same time should have gone even further if i'm honest, at least considering the damage i can observe for myself.[/edit]
