Can you be your own convoy?

Yes, you can join any convoy session and see other players on the other side of the road if you run into them no problem, without beeing part of a their convoy.

Honestly you're better off playing in smaller convoys even if you choose to convoy up, having more than 2 players to coordinate with slows your business down a lot.

In my opinion the best setup for a 8 player convoy session is 3 groups of 2 and 2 solo players. The lag in larger convoys is real.(3+ players)

As I can see now, in TruckersMP you don't have AI cars and trucks driving around. Is there a way, in a sense of multiplayer, to play with Ai cars and trucks, and other people convoying around you? Thanks in advance

It's not possible currently.
Maybe SCS will open public servers later, Don't hold your breath tho. I don't think it's coming soon.

I was curious about this too. I have no interests on driving in a convoy and chatting nor driving solo with hundreds (thousands?) other players without cars and AI trucks. However, I would not mind if I rarely spot some other player minding their own game only when I'm driving solo. I'm just afraid it would be considered rude or even trolling if I join other player's game and don't chat / drive with them.

My perfect version of the game sounds like this, all players on the same server.

Everyone minding their own business, but me only beeing able to see the closest 8 people with ping 100 or less within a 100-200km radius. (and radio distance)

When people leave that radius they dissappear from my map and enter other 8 players map. No collision between players and beeing able to instantly blacklist any player.

SCS provides the p2p service server.
