odd question: engine and jake brake sounds
Does changing the engine also change its sound? have not really noticed much change. Also, is there a mods to customise the engine brake sounds? The w900 sounds great and I can easily tell when the engine brake is doing its job, but with many more modern trucks your only indication that the the engine brake is working is RPM and a little icon (sometimes). Sound really helps me tell if the gearing is right

the new trucks engine brake sounds more like a fart than anything unless you change the exhaust some to get better sound . in game I use a modded motor that sounds good especially the jakes

In fact, many engines use "the same" or a very similar sounding ingame sound or very similar basic sound files for different events. There are of course engine sound mods with a remarkable jake brake sound. Engine brake sound itself cannot be separated from engine*s sound, it is molded into one sound bank.

I might switch to dual exhaust on the 9900I to see if that improves it. Sadly the 9900I does not have much engine variety so I might need to look at some mods to fix it. Thank you for the replies

For the 9900i, you could try this mod here from the Steam Workshop:
