No one here can answer that question

From what they said, they want to follow route 66 currently.

Well, back in old days there used to be lot of opinions saying that "no one wants the Dakotas." I believe it might had caused some alarm bells ringing in the SCS offices. I don't think it's the whole truth, but I believe it's part of it. It is getting more and more weird to dodge the Dakota situation over and over again.

They simply haven't done them yet. If they'd moved on to do Minnesota and not the Dakotas, THEN you might have a legitimate argument about them being skipped. ;)

But what is the reason?

Because they are working on other states instead. That's the best answer you're going to get because no one here has inside information as to what order SCS releases states.

i am sure that i heard somewhere (could have been on one of their livestreams) that they were prioritising the states on the original Route 66 corridor (which explains Missouri but DOESN'T explain them working on Iowa OR the teaser video for Louisiana that dropped the other day).

I suspect that the Dakota's are going to be the first States bundled together so it is possible that they are next in line after Louisiana

Actually there are multiple people subscribed to this discussion board that are "in the know". the problem is that they are forbidden from saying anything until something is officially announced

My guess is as good as anyone's, so here it goes: Illinois will be a single state, because (almost) everyone's gonna want it because *drums and other fancy stuff* there's this city called Chicago. So, it could be that Illinois will be last loner, and then we will be introduced bundles, starting from the Dakota Bundle and after that the "Mexican Gulf Bundle."

I sincerely doubt Illinois will be the last single state sold. Ohio has 3 major metropolises and a large number of medium cities (like Dayton, Akron, Youngstown, Toledo, etc). The end result is that while we do not have a city on the scale of Chicago, we have virtually the same state wide population as Illinois.

The issue they're going to face with smaller states is what can they cut. Population density rises as you go east. Skipping over a bunch of 5000 population towns in the west is fine. Skipping over a bunch of 500,000 population towns in the east is not.

And that's just Ohio. Pennsylvania is even more densely populated and frankly a larger land area. New York has NYC and a large number of medium cities outside that. Florida will be a huge one for sales too.

what makes you think they "skipped" them? because they haven't been done yet? they will do them to be sure and only they know what their schedule is. be patient.
Sharing opinion of some previous posts, they haven't skipped something they've never announced. And although they looked like they were following some pattern, actually there was no pattern at all.

We could only say they skipped something if for example they announced New York now without releasing the inbetween states.
