Level locked?

First I want to thank everyone who helped me decide to buy the game. Although not exactly like being out on the road again it is definitely fun and very chill to just be out on the road again.
I couldn't buy my own truck to start so have to been running short haul company run to make money. I finally made enough to buy the cheapest Mack truck with a sleeper but it's saying it's level locked.
I don't see any purpose in buying a day cab just to keep doing short haul trucking but do I really need to grind for more levels to get a sleeper?
I don't see any used trucks with sleepers either. I only have the base game because I can't afford to buy any dlc till a sale but was really looking forward to doing long hauls.
Maybe I can do them in a day cab and find hotels to sleep at? Or can you sleep in rest stops or on the side of the road in a day cab? If you can even sleep on a ramp in this game idk lol.

Yeah, unfortunately you need level 10 for the 48" sleeper.
Keep grinding quick job if you really don't want the daycab.

And for used dealers, it only shows trucks with configurations you have access to.

You can only sleep in designated areas. In this game, a sleeper is only cosmetic. It has no real purpose in the game. You'll be able to sleep just fine in a day cab. But only in marked areas, such as rest stops, truck service centers, truck stops, etc.

You could run run a mod for a few jobs that increases your xp and money, to skip all the leveling and money grind. If all you want to do is drive and not have to worry about any of that stuff.

Kinda a bummer it's just cosmetic but it is what it is. Thank yall. Guess I'll get a day cab lol.

I actually find it a realistic challenge to run a day cab truck and find rest areas with motel accommodations. In the game, you can rest at any rest area with sleeper or day cab, even if it doesn't make sense to do so with a day cab.

There is a mod, for some reason not on steam, called Everything Unlocked. It does exactly what it says it does, nothing sitting behind a level wall, you just buy what you want. I use the up to date version uploaded by Arty on truckymods. I use a realistic economy mod and it's not realistic to not be able to buy a 72" sleeper cab from the dealership because I don't have enough xp. I took a bank loan and have the money. Take it.
