Good entry level shifter, wheel, and pedals?
Thinking I might want to take this up a notch and graduate from an xbox controller, to a wheel, pedals, and shifter. The part that interests me the most is getting a shifter that can split gears like the real deal. What's everyone recommend for something like this?

i have a Logitech g920 with pedals and a GeForce shifter. i have a usb splitter to run a 18 speed transmisson. some people will tell you that Thrustmaster is better but it depends on your budget on what you get

As above depends on your budget, I have progressed through Logitech G25, 27 and 92 and now run a thrustmaster TGT 2 with LCM pedals, I also use a usb splitter for an 18 speed transmission. I can say that for ATS any of them will do. As i play a lot of car games I now use the Thrustmaster.

Thrustmaster or Logitech with FF. Not much you can do wrong there.
Both have extra shifters available and good pedal sets with clutch.
You can also check the used market if you want to save some money. Takes some patience though.

I own a T150 and I'm happy with it. (No extra shifter and only the basic plastic pedals without clutch.) The wheel itself is well build and feels good.

I would grab a Fanatec CSL DD Ready to Race Bundle, Wheel, Wheel Base, and Pedals. You can get the CSL DD 5nm bundle for 399.00, or the 8 nm for 499.00. I grabbed the BMW 8nm Ready to Race bundle, on sale last year and the deal was 449.00 iirc. I use it in all games from ATS to NFS to Automobilista, to Motorfest etc...Black Friday is near so, may want to wait for that. Sales should be happening. Go to Fanatec site, and click ready to race in upper left of nav bar and have a look. Don't forget to get the Desk mount for your wheel if you go this route and use a desk. I also grabbed a Mosa sequential shifter and Mosa handbrake, for 129.00 and 99.00 respectively each, I feel they are a great deal. Good luck and have fun. Going from a xbox controller or kb to a wheel/pedal setup is so much fun.

I also use a Logitech G923 with Pedals and shifter and a 18 speed transmission works perfect for ETS 2 and ATS.

How do you split gears with that shifter? I don't see any buttons or switches on it.

You can do two things, set keys on another device (like keyboard, wheel or buttonbox), one for Range and one for Splitter, or you can buy a 3rd party shifter that looks like a real shifter and has buttons for it.
like this: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61lMqq3A6mL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

it kinda goes like this then 1 split 2 shift 3 split 4 shift 5 split 6 shift 7 split 8 range shift 9 split 10, etc....

Just Google ats shifter, there's loads of them, I can't tell you what a good seller is, prices range from 30 dollars up to 150 maybe.

You can easily make one yourself, there are tutorials for that on Youtube, for example Febi sells IAM shifter knobs that you can use to build your own.

Do you have the name of the one you linked in a picture?

I have the logitech wheel and pedals which I am happy with. I had originally bought the logitech shifter but with an extension and the 18 speed knob I could tell it was not going to last.

I swapped it out for the aikeec 6+R shifter off Amazon and am much more happy with it even if it is much stiffer. But I have some new grease and am going to tweak it just a bit and it will be awessome.

Which knob do you use for the aikeec 6+R shifter?

I got this one:

Side toggle is my H/L, front is my range and the button up top I use for my jake brake.
