The Driving Academy
So, SCS thinks that just maybe, a reputable driver training program, might want to contact them about their Driving Academy? Seriously? They are kidding themselves. Maybe a fly by night so-called training school might be interested because all they are interested in is getting your money. But not a highly qualified school. They wouldn't even thing of this. You do not learn how to handle a semi but looking at pictures. You have to get into the truck with a qualified instructor. SCS's Driving Academy is useless.

English isn't even my native language (and I clearly could set the game as such if I wanted), but it's clear to me that it's about being something complementary, and not the main training.

And seriously, just check the history of OP's post. It's just a collection of over-interpretations and steam points farming.

(OP's even blocked on my list, but I just guessed right who s/he was just by the first replies)

I think we can assume SCS know what they are talking about with legal disclaimers in the game, as opposed to a randomer on a Steam forum. :steammocking:

... that's the important word.

Some people just read what they want to read and halfway of reading they have made up their mind. Constant complaining about updates but also constant demanding this and that.

Relax! It's a game.
If you don't like it the way it is or you think the devs only want your money. Stop playing it. stop buying DLCs.
Move on, play something else. The selection here on Steam is big.

OP has never heard of Prime or CR England's "Driving School". Pretty sure their "training" is 99% pictures.

I thought it was just common sense that the driving academy in any game is more like the game's tutorial. A "This is how to play our game" kind of thing.

Nobody would play Farming Simulator and then think 'This is easy, I could run my own farm!' You need proper instruction from a qualified instructor before getting into that big shiny Lamborghini Tractor! :er_angry:

Pretty much. It's a waste of resources for sure.

Funny, for me convoy is completely useless. Not only it's a waste of resourses, but it also became a reason for players to complain even more, as they want it to be exactly the existent TMP.

But just because I don't use it, it doesn't mean I'll cry my heart out because they added it.

From a strictly gaming standpoint....I could care less one way or the other about the driving academy. But......it should not be part of ETS1 or ATS main achievements. As the driving academy is a separate entity and its achievements involve conditions not every player uses, I feel it should have its own achievements exclusive of ATS and ETS1. Players can achieve all achievements in ETS1 and ATS with their own setup, but cannot in Driving Acadamy.

The achievements from ATS, ETS1, and world of trucks(?) are what keeps me going between DLC's. I want to maintain my 100% in ATS and ETS1, and gain in world of trucks(?). I should not lose 100% achievements because of a program not directly part of ATS or ETS1 game play. World of Trucks(?) has separate achievements, why not Driving Academy?

I believe Drivers Academy is of the same category as World of Trucks(?) and have it's achievements separated from ETS1 and ATS.
⬆️ I try not to be that kind of guy but... do play to have fun or to brag about your trophies? I haven't played 100% of my game list, alas unlock all achievements...

If you don't like something....don't play it. That simple.

I don't understand why the achievements should be separate. It takes at most 1 day to get them, and a skilled player that's aiming for all achievements anyway could easily get all of the Driving Academy achievements in less than 2 hours.

I can see a speedrun being less than 1 hour. I got the first Academy achievement at 9:32pm, and got all 6 achievements by 10:57pm. That's 1 hour and 25 minutes for all Academy achievements. 2 hours tops. That's maybe less than 1% of the time for all achievements.

Maybe a skilled player who has good eyesight can. But with limited vision, I can't. I'd love to have your eyesight but I don't.

I been playing driving academy for almost a week now and I still haven't completed it. some of the modules I think took me 50 tries beffore I was able to complete it. Some achievements I probably will never complete because there's no way I can complete many of them on the first try. I also don't have a h-shifter and even if I did with the eyesight I have I don't see myself being able to be successful with it.

Personally I wish the achievements were seperate because I know I'm not going to be able to complete the driver academy achievements.

I am required to have a valid DOT Medical, for driving a commercial vehicle. This last DOT test, I passed the vision test by a hair. Any worse and I'll have to give up driving commercially. You can take as much time as you need and go as slow as you want. With zoom interior camera keybind, you can see much better. The "Manual Transmission" achievement accepts sequential mode, and you'll only need to go up 2-3 gears max.

I would guess he means the second paragraph of the pop up...

The one with an email for contacting scs......... it should not be so hard to understand his text to interpret it the other way.......
Which doesn't made his complaint any more sensible, as the companies will likely tweak the game engine further. Essentially, their version will be different from this game version.

This had happened before: Cities: Skylines had an educational version used in schools, which is different from the game version.

Only to discover its hitch wasn't compatible to the British hitch.

Nope. It is meant as a tutorial for new players. Need to retain them to encourage them to buy DLCs to generate more resources.

Nope what it means is there were a few heads looking for a project cause they ran out of things to do at SCS. Rather than focus on main game stuff someone there came up with this lame driving academy to kill time. Again, what a waste of resources and time.
