The Driving Academy
So, SCS thinks that just maybe, a reputable driver training program, might want to contact them about their Driving Academy? Seriously? They are kidding themselves. Maybe a fly by night so-called training school might be interested because all they are interested in is getting your money. But not a highly qualified school. They wouldn't even thing of this. You do not learn how to handle a semi but looking at pictures. You have to get into the truck with a qualified instructor. SCS's Driving Academy is useless.

So? I don't see the problem of them stating that.

If you cared to read the whole popup you'd have noticed the Disclaimer saying:
"Driving Academy is not intended to replace in cab training."

It's not "useless".
The nowdays old game Richard Burns Rally had a "Rally school" and I dont think the devs for that game intended you to make you believe that you were a "real" rallydriver thanks to it.

That game, and this, is just a game, and I think especially new players will have a positive experience by the Driving Academy in ATS and ETS 2.
It gives some, and I say "some" indept into beeing a truckdriver (in the game).

For the real experience you of course do the real thing.

How did I know ahead of time this new add on to the "game," would open up the gripe balcony. LOL

Bold of you to assume they can read at all.

Because some gamers will complain about anything and everything.

OP keeps opening these 'special' threads that end up being locked. I'm starting to think OP is genuinely mad this game doesn't give you a real trucking license.

It CLEARLY states that this is not a substitute for real life driving school or driving experience lol

Who ever said this will teach you how to drive a truck in real life? Did they say that?

Since it was announced I think most normal people understood that it would teach you how to drive and operate a truck in the virtual environment of the game.

It's actually kind of insulting that people don't read and a BLIND person like me come in here and tell you that the prompt in the game clearly tells you that is not meant to replace in cab training and it is not meant to replace the actual training out on the road.

Granted, I didn't need to respond but, I just find it ironic when people who have better eyesight than I do clearly misses those little things somehow.

Completely agree with you defitheimpossible i also have limited sight its called tunnel vision and i still managed to read and understand
As you stated didn't need to respond but i had to say something :steamfacepalm:
I mean... people don't read the notes that pop-up when using mods already. I can only see some people hijacking the first truck they see in real life after unlocking the achievements, and becoming famous on the news.

OP - shut up. You are a fool if you think they implemented the Driving Academy to be a real life replacement. It's so new players can learn to drive a truck in the damn game in a decent way.
Linkedghost Oct 18, 2024 @ 12:14pm
It’s just a game. Never intended to be a training sim for real life, ever.

I would guess he means the second paragraph of the pop up...

The one with an email for contacting scs......... it should not be so hard to understand his text to interpret it the other way.......

"supplement"

noun
/ˈsʌplɪm(ə)nt/
1.
a thing added to something else in order to complete or enhance it.
"the handout is a supplement to the official manual"

verb
/ˈsʌplɪmɛnt/
add an extra element or amount to.
"I looked for a part-time job to supplement my income"

That is the operative word.
I think we can assume SCS know what they are talking about with legal disclaimers in the game, as opposed to a randomer on a Steam forum. :steammocking:

I appreciate the addition of the driving academy. Thank you SCS.
