FHD vs QHD/WQHD image size

Issue: I have 3 27 inch FHD (1920x1080) monitors that I have joined and I can see more than the full width of the cab, mirror to mirror. It's beautiful! Problem is, three 27 inch monitors side by side is over 6 feet wide.

Question: If I were to get 2 32 inch QHD (2560 x 1440) monitors, could I see the same full width image I'm seeing on 3 FHD monitors, but only take up 5 feet of space?

There are non-curved 32" monitors with width less than 76cm, so yes on that count. For mirror to mirror, probably depends on how much distortion you are willing toi accept more than anything.

VR would be cheaper, and generally superior, but the cheaper sets have FoV at about 95-110 degrees.

Also worth considering that when you increase resolution (or go VR) the hood mirrors become more useful so seeing from side mirror to side mirror at the same time becomes less important.

In theory, yes if the width is the same resolution/aspect ratio as you use know.

Practical it most likely depends on the multi config and if you can set the Position of two monitors so that the Center of the screen would be.....more to the right.


Easier and more cost efficient solution would be to use a head tracking device with 1 Monitor.....

WolfPig: I do have a TrackIR and it works great with single monitor. So I totally agree with you. But WOW, the enjoyment of the drive with those 3 monitors. It really felt like real driving, being able to see objects in the fields off the sides of the road where you can just watch them go by in a realistic manner. It was quite something! Haha

I played this game on two monitors for quite a while. While you can do it, it is a real pain to set up so it works nice. I would recommend sticking with 3 screens. If you want to downsize, just get monitors small enough that 3 wide fit whatever width you want.
