I know, right?!

Not only are they charging a hefty £15 price-tag for 2+ years of work...

...but now they expect to get paid for working on more content?!

Next they will start throwing our money away to Truck Companies to get more licenses for us! The fiends!!!

Give it a few months / years and most of it will be avaliable through mods for free or you can just stick with map addons SCS does.

I agree m8, when i saw this i made a decision to wait for a steam sale. It says American truck simulator not Arizona Simulator.

If the game was £40/$60 at launch I would agree with you, that would be crazy. But its going to be £15/$20. Its not exactly expensive, and even with the 2 states it seems to be a pretty big game. smallish DLC for other games often costs more than that. Also, from what I've seen of the game so far, the detailing on the map, and road systems is so much higher than it was in ETS 2. ETS 2 was also easier for them in a way, they'd been making quite a few games set in Europe prior to its release, both UK, and Germany come from previous games, and they make up a big chunk of the map. Plus I seriously doubt every single state is going to be sold seperately, sure the big ones will, but there's also a lot of small states as well, that will likely be lumped together, or included with others.

My thoughts exactly. How dare they feed and clothe their families at our expense. Mark my words if we allow these shananagins to continue there will be no stopping their wonton money lust.

Thats true......probably that is the cause that the game has American Trucks in it....:hthappy:

If they did all that for free.... how could they afford to make new stuff??? please, nobody is saying you must buy the game, if you can't afford it, wait.

Is it really nickel and diming when they've taken 3 years just to get the game to this point? If they were pumping out map DLC every month and charging for it, then yeah you have a point. As it is, the base game is only $20. The first paid map DLC is probably at least 6 months away (judging by the rate of ETS 2 DLC). Is that really "milking" the game or just trying to keep a steady flow of revenue?

Not a bad idea. I am a bit disappointed with the map size. It looks a lot more detailed to be sure, but I have a feeling people will get bored with it if map expansions aren't pretty regular. Waiting for Arizona and a few more states might be a better way to go for some people.

For the life of me, I don't remember such an uproar when they release ETS2 4 years ago with only half the countries of Europe (12 out of 28) and again, less than a half of these countries for most of them.

The 2 biggest uproars so far, IMO, was the overall quality of Going East vs the quality of ETS2 and the price of Scandinavia.

Four years later, with 2 DLCs, the full size of ETS2 is barely slightly bigger than ATS (& 1 DLC) at launch. That being said, the achievement Pathfinder, for discovering the full ETS2 map, is earned by only 1.1% of 2.500.000 players. ( http://steamcommunity.com/stats/227300/achievements)

It doesn't mean the map is too big to fully explore it but IMO, it somehow implies nobody will be bored with the current size of ATS. One thing though, some players will be indeed bored to not be able to play in their states.

To the players saying " I'm waiting for the full bundled map ", see ya in 4 years.

NB: I'm not gonna say once more it's American Truck Simulator, not America Truck Simulator, like it is European Truck Simulator, not Europe Truck Simulator ... Oops, I did it again.

I think The Crew will be a bit smaller than this when this is completed and although the Cities won't be as big or detailed, it will have more cities than The Crew in total, which has the West Coast with LA, San Fran and Seattle.

Also, with The Crew, San Fran is WAY TOO UP: http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/thecrew/images/7/7b/Westcoastgeography.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140726062841

ALso, you just sound REALLY cheap, waiting for deals and then complaiuning when things ain't on offer.

I hope to be proven wrong, but I'm skeptical that support for this game will last long enough for SCS to come close to finishing the US, let alone Mexico or Canada.

Why do you think this? What else has SCS got to do?
Potato Buddy Jan 29, 2016 @ 1:13pm
I mean, will people still be interested enough in the game to keep buying map expansions and making further work on the game worth it? The current consensus is that it will take 5-7 years or more to finish the US. That's a long time for a game to stay popular.
