Just like the lift axles...
Some US trucks do have a lift axle. But perhaps in the future we can see sliding tandems for trailers.

I don't see the point with slideable axles unless they add some sort of weigh station mechanic to go along with it. If they add advanced weight scale measurement on each axle like they do IRL, it would make perfect sense to have that.
