Is there an auto-drive feature or mod, or more camera angles?
Just wondering if I'm missing something. This game has so many cool geographic details, but it feels like I'm only catching them for the split seconds that I can look away without running off the road. Screenshots make it look like you can take in all this majestic scenery, but it's more of a peripheral thing in practice and I'm mostly just looking at the lines on the road. I don't mind it but it would be cool to be able to eschew the driving sometimes and take everything in.

No such thing as an auto-drive feature or mod.

Lame. I'd probably still mostly drive manually but a photo mode of some kind would go a long way to keep this game interesting.

There is a photo mode in the game.

About the best you can do while driving is use the interior look up left angle. That shows the most scenery. Are you using a mouse/keyboard. If so, a gaming mouse is a big help as I have 5 camera angles mapped to mouse buttons.

You can also pick a truck with better visibility out the windshield which I generally don't use much as I like the sunscreen look.

You can also use the # 4 key to get the view from on top of the cab. Too bad this view couldn't be rotated perhaps 30 degrees while driving.

Look into Head tracking....use Web cam and get the open source software. Changed the whole ATS expereince, now I ONLY use head tracking.

I agree with needing rotation on the #4 camera view top of cab, that's where I do all my driving so I can at least enjoy the scenery while I drive, but when it comes time to turn then I gotta swap into the #2 camera chasing, so I can look both ways before proceeding.
I'm rarely inside my cab anymore.

The closest thing to auto driving is cruise control which sets the truck to whatever speed you are currently at and all you have to do is continue lane control. And there are no mods for self/auto driving exist and would probably be super difficult to add to the game.

It would be cool to see adaptive cruise control be added to the game eventually. Alot of newer trucks like the NextGen T680 and Cascadia are starting to be equipped with it nowadays.

Yeah, it would be cool to see SCS add that to the game. Especially if there adding the NextGen T680 and newer trucks if they get permission from those companies.

The AI auto-drives all the time. It's not good at it, but then neither are the AI drivers in the real world. Or the real drivers in the AI world.

You can, if you're good enough to drive and control a camera at the same time, enable the freecam. Detach it from the vehicle and you can pretty much go anywhere, even into the void, get any angle you want, even inside the cab. But while driving it would be difficult as you'd still be in control of the lorry. So you'd best pause it. This way you can ignore photo mode entirely, remove the HUD and use Steams screenshot function instead.

There are also viewpoints in some places, where you can stop and activate a cutscene that shows off the scenery around the area. Keep an eye out for those, though they are only in the more recent states at the moment.

I'd like to have 2 camera views at the same time. This would be incredibly useful when backing up trailers into tight spots. Get a first person perspective and match that up with a 3rd person perspective.
