Don't play this game if you own an 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth controller
There's a problem with Euro Truck Simulator that replicates on American Truck Simulator, which is unsupervised left switch input upon interacting with the game. I experienced the same issue on those two games.
>> The following issue takes place when playing those games I mentioned by using an 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth controller (Steam Input is enabled). And get this: it's the ONLY game from my Steam Library where this bug takes place, so I do not think this is an issue with the controller per se -- rather, with the game, its settings, or Steam Input.
>> Yes, I have checked all present Steam Input settings looking for something that makes no sense. Found none. For instance, I've tried the same settings with Deadzones enabled and disabled, no difference, this game only seems to bother to know if Steam Input is enabled, it won't listen to my inputs when Steam Input is disabled.
Typically, when I'm playing the game using Steam Input, along with the official controller settings from the developer, upon moving the left stick a little to the sides, there's a chance the game will start to act up, meaning some input will be generated BY THE GAME, and it's always affecting the left stick, which moves to the right.

That alone is a dealbreaker, more so when driving a truck on a narrow street, which has happened to me multiple times -- I'm constantly FIGHTING the controls while driving the truck and I realize this bug is there and it gets annoying pretty fast.

Here's the controls specs:
Controller Model: 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth, black, model 80NA02
Firmware version: Latest
Calibrated: Yes
Same issues with other games from your library: No
Did the brand mention SteamOS support: Yes
The bug mentioned above happens when Steam Input is enabled: Yes
Is the controller suffering drift: NO, tested this controller with other games, like I mentioned before. This is a game-specific bug.

When Steam Input is disabled: the game won't listen to any inputs from the controller
Additional Details: I've tried pretty much everything I can think of with the settings for this controller, specifically on "Driving", "Driving - Arcade", "Driving - Automatic" but the game behaves all the same and the bug is still there, no matter what. For example, I enter the Steam Input setting for "Driving - Automatic", then I go to the sticks settings (gear icon next to 'left stick') and I do some testing with my stick and everything seems OK, so I get back to the game, go to the game options, make sure automatic gear is selected, and when I resume driving, the bug is still there.

So for 8BitDo users, avoid this game. I have no faith Giants or SCS will ever read this or fix the bug.

Not a game issue but a hardware/Steam issue.

Having a hard time understanding exactly what is happening to you.

Are you saying that the game is behaving as if you're constantly trying to steer a certain direction? Is the direction consistent when it occurs? Does this same issue happen with other controllers you've tried?

There are some settings that cause unexpected behavior, usually due to a popup upon first starting the game asking to bind left stick to game cursor control. Without seeing the "bug" occurring, it'll be hard to us players to help you.

Have you verified your findings with a large pool of users of mentioned device?
Do you have any expertise in computer hardware?
Have you tested with other similar controllers?
Have you tried other ways, cable for example of connecting the controller to your pc?

Sounds like an issue with your controller and Steam Input. Nothing the devs can fix.
