Triples, whats the point?
So whats the point of Triple Trailers if the load is still around 40k lbs, Ive fit that much in a single, so?

How much would you get for a single trailer with the same cargo the same distance? 15k?

At least in real life, low-value cargo is often better to take as much as possible each job.

Drivers and tractors are expensive and have to be utilized effectively.. Better 1 driver + tractor with 3 trailers than 3 drivers + trucks with 1 trailer each.

In the real world where such combos probably are mainly used by companies it is done to, for example, deliver one of the trailers to company building a, keep it there and move on with the others to the next.
And maybe on the way back to the home Station those (or others) get collected and driven back to the start.

I'm going with: Fun

If I can switch to doubles or triples on a load, I will. More fun to haul around articulated loads! Besides, after you've purchased a truck, you don't need the flood of money for anything else so why bother with worrying about what the jobs pay and start enjoying what you're pulling and have fun driving?

Cargo is not calculated by Weight alone. Cargo also has Volume "stats" .. Some cargo is Bulky, but light. 3x 28 foot pups have the same Volume as 1.6x 53 foot trailers, or 1.75x 48 foot trailers, or 1.9x 45 foot trailers.

Turnpikes in the trucking industry are mostly used for LTL and makes it easy to split loads going to the same or close to same destination.......never heard of a "double or triple"

Shouldn't this be obvious? How much does toilet paper and kleenex cases weigh? Even a lot of parcel-type loads (UPS, etc.) can come in pretty light. As mentioned, there's a sliding scale of weight vs. bulkiness, or dense vs. not dense. Sometimes there might be one or more LTL loads, different destinations, and more.

I realize ATS isn't entirely that sophisticated [yet], but you can imagine there's plenty of players out that that find triples interesting and adding a unique kind of challenge -- mainly not being able to reverse hardly at all, lol! Actually, my son right now just loves hauling triples... granted I think his simpler math skills having him thinking it pays triple compared to a single trailer. :)

"Turnpike Double" : 2 53 foot trailers hauled with one tractor... (mainly in Canada)
"Double" : 2 28 foot Pup Trailers mainly for LTL...
"Triple" : 3 28 foot Pup Trailers, again for LTL.
"Rocky Mountain Double": a 53' with a 28'.
All of these are called LCV (long combination vehicles).

Doubles are usually on most interstates in the US, while Triples are usually confined to Turnpikes, or highways that are mostly straight.

In the USA (where the game is set) Turnpike Doubles and Rocky Mountain Doubles have a maximum trailer length of 45 feet, not 53 feet (also depicted in the Game files).
Turnpike Double = 45+45 \\ Rocky Mountain Double = 45+28 (both very limited allowed routes/locations, mostly West of the Mississippi River))
28' Pup Doubles are permitted on any State Road/Route, in all 48 contiguous States, unless posted otherwise.
28' Pup Triples are only permitted in certain States, and on certain Routes.

The majority of 28' pup Doubles and Triples in the USA are ran by UPS and FedEx, where there are a LOT of small, light weight items all going from distribution center to distribution center .. Or to two or three different distro centers, and in this case, the drivers will meet up with other drivers along the route, and they will swap one or more of the doubles/triples with the another driver. Package distribution is kinda like a relay race, with trailers being handed off to other drivers when the trailer load of packages needs to go in a different direction from the other trailer.

Lets clarify I mean strictly in the game, and no "to make it harder" isnt one of the things I meant, I mean what do I get from hauling them if I cant take more/fill them up.

Unless you are using Mods to run Doubles/Triples in States where they are not normally allowed, you DO get More Cargo on 2x 28 foot pups than you do in a single 53 foot trailer .. Double Pups DO pay more, for the same freight type .. Cargo Pay Rate is based on both Volume and Weight .. More of both Volume and Weight = more pay.

* Now, if you are using MODS to pull Triples or RockyMountain or Turnpike Doubles, or even B-Doubles in States where they would NOT normally exist in the game, the Game will not load a FULL load .. Are you using a MOD?

No mods for that, only when I look at jobs none of them are over what a double would do, no matter how many days I wait.
