Antialiasing after update
With the new update has the antialiasing been completely resolved? I haven’t had the opportunity to look yet but according to promo video it looks to be fixed.

I recently (a few months) started using the SnowyMoon mod and got very used to it. Will it still be needed? I know a few of you out there use it.

What you think?

Much better now with TAA enabled. Despite what some say i have seen no performance impact either. Snowymoon wont work with 1.50 and since he went to a subscription model he doesnt deserve to be patronised anyway

Mine is still a jagged mess. Like it's not working at all

It is looking pretty good here. I also use nvidia game filter sharpness. Some textures still have some shimmering. Fences and stuff on the side of the road. But I played about 7000 hours with shimmering textures so it doesn't bother me anymore. It does seem improved. I am enjoying the new patch.

Yeah the new update has made the game even better now, no more have loads of jaggyness everywhere.

Follow up:

Was still using the NPI method so I deleted the config file, multimon file, and verified games files in steam and that seems to have fixed AA

Ditch that SnowyMoon mod. It's not worth it anymore.

Yea. For the short time I used it it was totally worth it. I even supported the guy with a the $1 fee.

Hopefully now I don’t need it.

I’ll fire up a clean profile tonight and see what happens. My main profile has some mods which probably haven’t been updated yet. Trucks, minimal route advisor, mirror fov, nothing too major.

Thanks all for the replies.

Compared to MSAA through NPI at 100% scale, the SMAA + TAA at 200% scale looks pretty good when combined with the other changes. Some things look a bit better, but there is a little flicker on certain other objects. I reset the profile and my INI files. This is at 1440p. Will have to see what tweaks and settings put you in the sweet spot.

I ended up still using NPI but disabling AA in there, using in game TAA+SMAA soft, and completely remade my reshade profile in the lastest version. Seems to be working really well with most shimmering only on very distant objects. Looks pretty close to the old method now

Definitely not to me @ 1080p, ultra settings, 400% scaling. Still a lot of jaggies and shimmering and the highway signage is now incredibly blurry at medium and far distances.

Running SMAA+TAA, always sharp taa and 2.0 lumina sharpness at 4k.

Looks ALOT better. There is still some shimmering like with chainlink and some other fences, but powerlines look better, NPC trailers are better etc. Etc.

Definitely improved.

Looks much, much better on my end with SMAA+TAA on balanced.

Definitely better than before but not as good as with SnowyMoon mod. I don’t enough about this stuff to know what to change but I’m at max settings SMAA + TAA 400% scaling at 1440. I’m getting great fps.

I don’t have vsync enable and not sure if I should turn on.

Is there anything in nvidia control panel that I should be looking at setting?

For me, the TAA of the 1.50 is far from exciting. As before, FPS are good and stable at 80 in QHD but the contours still flicker in every setting. I could come to terms with that, but there's a micro stop about every five seconds and that's unplayable. A pity.

I used to have a micro-stutter and was able to fix. Unfortunately the fix escapes my mind and can’t think of it. I believe it was a buffer setting in the config file. I will look through some of my older posts and see if I can find it.

Update: I looked through all my posts the only thing i can see that i mention was the game buffer in the config file. I doubled it.
