Special Transport missions are "special" all right
Seriously, why make it unnecessarily stressful right at the end of the mission by forcing us to park so tediously!? Just accept the damn delivery. The idiots at the drop off location have all these shipping crates and trucks in the way blocking the parking spot in Galveston Port. Are they not expecting and prepared for this deliver? Nope, make me drive around this facility fives times adding 20 more minutes just so it fits perfectly in the lines... oof.

Please fix this issue.

Nothing to fix as you can just skip parking.

And if you use mods, they can cause your issue too which is even less to fix.

I have run into the same issue- where unless all portions of the truck, trailers, bogeys, etc are all millimeter perfect in the provided area, the mission can't be completed. I don't know where he's seeing an option to skip parking on the heavy haul missions, because I would have done so lol.

Another bug I have encountered is where a NPC car will spawn at an intersection in front of the guide car, and then not move (because their intended path is blocked by police facilitating the heavy haul. Usually have to change the resolution or restart the application (both delete the NPC traffic) to fix that.

even i would want it much longer and speeds that i read was fifty to eighty mile per hour snf that is much better sense than 40 i and i really hate driving that slow anyway
what a bad idea for you ask me disgraceful

I have the same thing too and I'm playing without mods.

Even without doing the special transport contracts and just the heavy haul stuff with triple articulating trailers, there are weird concrete dirt ramps in yards that are right in front of the drop off area, as well as either dry vans, low beds, or even trucks and equipment flanking that drop off point. A bit on the nose realistic. People would be moving stuff around if they knew large equipment was being dropped off beforehand.

What randomly happens to me is we could be on I-80 creeping along at 40mph and the escort vehicle in front just stops for no reason and then mission failed because you rear ended them.

Unless you have it deactivated there is by default always for any contract the option to skip parking when you are close enough to the parking spot.

At the expense at losing out on the 40xp or so for the drop off.

And? That is nothing compared to what you get when you drive on a contract.

Hey, Mr. McSniperligerapholopighusauras,

Bugs are bugs. Not making any excuses for those, just saying to make it crystal . . .

As far as the obstacles in the parking area / delivery point at your destinations and the absurd parking/delivery point placements go, they have absolutely NOTHING to do with realism.

They are there for the challenge, to make parking more difficult. You are completely missing the point of having them
in this game.

Just as Wolfgang suggests, if you find this part of the game too difficult to deal with, then just skip parking. Not everybody can play the game well, there is nothing SCS needs to do (besides fix bugs when they exist) that can help you with your problem. :104:

Makes it less enjoyable when there is no real easy way to get around obstacles just laying around a drop off point. Triple articulating trailers that do not have steerable axles are pretty much impossible to back up to get squared into the drop off point, its why they disable the where do you need it with loads like that.

So many good and fair points made here. I too was NOT offered a skip option. Because in my settings I have parking defaulted to easy. I enjoy the game for driving and seeing the sights. Parking simply stresses me out so I avoid it. Only option I was given was to abandon my 37k mission and pay a fine of something crazy like 14k. So instead I opted to attempt until achieved. Glad I did it, but still frustrating as heck. And not fun at all if you ask me. But hey different strokes for different jokes (folks).

And for those wondering about this driver (me), I have 1000 hours in the game and have completely maxed-out my current profile on skills. At 37 and hauling till I get to that 40 (King of the Road) status. Then I'll likely buy the last three states and start it all over again :D

I'm at level 102. The parking situation is needlessly obstructed. If they want to add challenge, it could be done by starting with none, and increasing clutter/ precision as the difficulty is increased, or by having the easier level parking in an unobstructed area.

As for the skill shade being tossed about-IRL I have backed a wrecker, towing a truck, towing tandems on more than one occasion, and a HEMTT towing an LMTV, which was towing a HMMWV while being shot at- I earned that T-shirt a long time ago.

I think the point a lot of you are missing, is that the "Special Transport DLC" IS the "Expert" level, regardless of your Profile level .. even in real life, those kinds of loads do not get transported by just anybody .. You have to have skills and qualifications, and experience to have the chance to carry that freight. If you feel the DLC is too hard, you are not forced to haul those loads.
Edit: It also helps to have a truck setup for those types of loads .. Short wheelbase DayCab with a big engine and many gears.

Most of the special transport loads aren't even that heavy. For example, the Rail car from Overland (aka Kawasaki) in the outskirts of Lincoln, NE is just under 80,000lbs. The heavy dozer in I think the heavy haul is 89,000lbs. Heaviest load in the heavy haul is the transformer at 125,000lbs. I haven't seen anything heavier in the special cargo DLC or heavy haul stuff.

Though funny enough as a side note, Friday heading to work, there was a semi going west bond on I-80 with one of those same rail cars. All he had as an over sized load sign on his front bumper and on back of the trailer. He was chooching along at like 65-75mph. Did not see any escorts in front of him or behind him. So kind of weird in game that load requires escort, but in real life, none. I see a lot of crawler crane track sets on low-boy flatbeds with just over sized flags and no escorts. Only ones I see with escorts are the wind turbine blades, tower sections and maybe the generator/housing. Seems like they picked and chose what gets escorts and what doesn't.

They should add the proper CDL/DOT endorsements and maybe also where you (or company) has to get the proper permits like you would for this kind of stuff. Already have the HAZMAT certifications as is. But nothing really for heavy haul stuff. Now that could be a nice feature. I'm level 44 in game and well maxed out all skill sets.

Would like to see a lot more heavy hauling stuff, like over the 125k lbs mark. On occasion you'll see some heavy and real over sized loads that have to go on the back roads if only because there is a lack of bridges and underpasses to go through.

I think you are confusing 2 diferent DLC packs .. Special Transport is the one with Escorts, because they are extremely "oversize", not because they are "heavy" .. Those would be the Heavy Haul DLC loads, which do not have escorts, and are treated like regular loads .. I'm pretty sure that you don't even need a 3+3+3 low boy with jeep and stinger for even the 125K transformer. A simple 2 axle will still haul most, if not all of them .. This is a point that I think they could do a little better, and maybe it boils down to the differences between European trucking, where SCS are from, and American Trucking .. Because many of the Heavy Haul DLC loads SHOULD have escorts also, even though they are not "extreme".
