AI lacking basic amount of nuerons?
The traffic AI has been stopping in the middle of highways, immediately stopping at yellow lights when they obviously have time to turn, and other skills that require minimum activation of your brain. Anybody else having these problems? I think it may be with downloading new road data for the Arkansas expansion coming up.

Ai has been that way for awhile. Maybe one day they will update the traffic coding.

Drive defensively. I haven't ran into an ai vehicle in about a year.

There is no AI in ATS, only npc objects that move according to their programming code.

So no, there is no AI and the AI that doesn't exist in the game has the correct amount of neurons, none.

The only real problems with the npc traffic are the players who refuse to adjust to it. It can be a complete non-factor if a player learns to play the game well enough to understand it. It's very predictable.

The player is the one who is expected to have enough neurons to play the game well since it is impossible for the npc traffic to act differently than it does (unless you convince SCS to tweak it enough to suit your driving style no matter what it might be, and no matter what you might be doing or how you might be driving).

Another great mystery solved. This unoriginal whining is getting so boring. Please think of something new to complain about, k? :steamfacepalm:

You got me beat all to heck. I even run into invisible ones. BAM! 3% trailer damage. Nothing there. Traffic fine.

I like to use the Minor Urban Overhaul Mod 17.1 for 1.50, It increases traffic density in city areas and spreads them out on highways, it also makes traffic less dumb, not perfect but better. Run it at the bottom of your load order. There is a potential risk to downloading malware, just take your time and make sure it is only downloading the file you need.

Not everyone wants to go into a game and have to make adjustments. My brother and I have been playing this game since release and its always been an issue, sometimes its good, other times with updates it gets arguably worse.

The real annoyance is the difference in traffic behavior between normal and doing external contracts. The traffic acts way differently and tends to be worse when doing external contracts. One shouldn't have to decrease the base settings to enjoy a game more, when it had been decent in the past, albeit for only a short bit before some update seem to make the same problem again and potentially make it worse.

I play strictly vanilla just because of limitations of using over a decade old Laptop and ancient hardware.

I severely doubt the existance of two different AI car algorithms for internal and external contracts.

I have never experienced this in either ATS or ETS2.

I just smash into them and carry on with my day. The fine and repair bill is worth it.

Problem? I think the ATS driver AI is faithfully and accurately replicating a large part of the irl human, neuron lacking, incompetent and incredibly scary drivers on the roads each and every day.

I enjoy driving the big rigs on the virtual roads in ATS. I don't know how professional drivers deal with the lunatics on the roads irl. My hats off to all irl truckers.

If I could do a video, I would, because there is a huge difference.

If I could make one, I would then counter that with a video showing no difference on my end.
