Servicing Trucks
I have quite a few Garages and Trucks but never had a Truck that needed servicing until now. I have a couple that require a service and wondered how to do it. I know there is an upgrade and also a restore button. I don't think it's the Upgrade button so assume it's the restore button, seems quite expensive to restore them so thought i would ask on here just to be sure. Thanks.

There is no way for your trucks to get serviced at your garages. You have to go to one of the
Dealers or to a service repair shop...

So i have to drive the Truck myself and take it for a service ?. Seems like a lot of messing about to me.

Yes.

If you have a Large garage, you can refuel your truck there. But that's it (besides taking the mandatory off-duty hours).

When you service your truck you have a few options though, you can repair broken items, replace those items, or do a full truck restore.

For example you can repair your tires, but natural wear on them will not be fixed, for that you have to replace them.

Take plenty of cash, it's not cheap. Especially restoring.

Thanks guys, i am making plenty of cash so depending how quick and how many needs servicing at the same time i will just restore them, someone did mention a mod to me but couldn't remember the name of it that lets you service trucks at all your garages. Not been able to find any such mod so probably doesn't exist yet.

Have a look at this one:

"You could say that this could be abused to repair the truck directly at companies, which is unrealistic, but it's up to you if you want to abuse it or not."

You don't have to drive your truck to a service shop. F7 and have it towed, for a nominal fee of course.
One of my more expensive services was just the other day. Truck and trailer, selected replace everything on both, bill was around $8,000. Very reasonable, since once you max out on truck and driver quantity, the only thing left to max out is quality equipment.

I am going through a garage at a time, maxing out the trucks to match mine, and giving every garage 5 double reefers and a triple flatbed. Drivers are using the trailers, and the money keeps pouring in, $17M a week right now.

"Restoring" costs about twice as much as just buying a brand new duplicate truck (more, if you trade in your old truck, and get some credit for it) .. Only "Restore" stuff if you are intentionally trying to spend lots of money.

So does all this mean that you do not have to service hired driver trucks the same as servicing the truck I drive?

Hired drivers will get their truck repaired as needed. Hired drivers do not do full vehicle restorations either.

If a hired driver complains that they can't work, because their truck is too worn out, then you have to take their truck and go to service yourself for major repair/replacement of parts, or a Restoration/Trade-in (you can just sell their truck, and buy them another if you're not worried about keeping high miles)

Once you buy a truck at a dealer it saves that configuration. Select Fleet(?) and you just have to repurchase it without doing all the design over again.
