All 48' drop decks are legal in California.
Only the 53' drop deck with 2 axle and them set forward is the ONLY 53' drop deck legal in California.
You are trying to use one of these: (I just tried to purchase ALL drop decks in various configs and place in California.)
53' 2 axle in the rear position
53' 3 axle
53' 2 axle spread
These 53' drop decks are illegal in California. Same with any other trailer really. The California Bridge Law measures from the king pin of the trailer to the center of the rear most axle on the trailer. (Can not be longer than 40'). There for, these trailers do not meet the Bridge law, and NEVER HAVE IN ATS... This is NOTHING NEW.
You can drive into California with one of these Illegal trailers, but will get fined at a weigh station.
2 axle forward only, spread not allowed,
Tri axle are allowed.
Quad axle allowed.
Also I found out the issue. The current spread axle for purchase is not legal in CA as spread you used was a different type designed for CA.
Still does not explain why tri or quad axle trailers are allowed in CA in game.
CA is the toughest regulated state for trucks. Only some North east states are even comparable and they often have much lighter weight restrictions over CA.
