Damage on dirt roads
Can one of the developers explain the unreal damage that one gets on a dirt road? I have stopped doing anything where I need to go on a dirt road because its frustrating and stupid. I just ended a job with no damage until the last mile and then going 8MPH on a 15 MPH road I took 30%damage to my truck and 5% to the trailer losing many and skill and now will need to get towed to a service station. There isnt even a visual representation on the road of what is causing the damage so you can try to avoid it. I've driven dirt roads, logging roads etc and never seen any damage occur unlike this game. Can this be fixed or is it a lost cause driving where there are dirt roiads. If so not sure why I'm spending my money buying updates in which I cant drive the whole thing.

Remove the bull bar

Many posts regarding this on the forum, if you'd just typed it into the search box. Remove bull bars, or any custom front bumpers, job done. Driving a truck that is made for off-road forestry trails, with the big wheels and off-road tyres is a good idea.

That is a neat detail.

Using the air suspension might also help, if you crank it all the way to its max height.
It may sound off-topic, but this also answers people asking why truck doesn't keep lowered suspension when above 50.

Yeah I'm not a fan of this issue tbh. It use to never be a real problem when the W900 bumper would have some slight phasing through the ground like how the 389 bumpers did (unsure if they still do).

Why SCS and Kentworth agreed to this negative is confusing but what do I know. Just remove the custom bumpers and forget about their existence or drive at 5mph or less on dirt roads.
I don't see as an actual "issue" though. It's like a customization option. You either choose to make your truck good-looking, or make it ready for off-roading.

When it only affects 1 (possibly 2 trucks) in 2 games, did not happen in the past with the og bullhorn bumper till a change (I think 1.37 or 1.36?) on the only dirt roads that at times that you may not know about at reasonable limits its an issue. I get if your going 30mph on those roads your lower bumper would defiantly do something but only going 10mph and getting 30% damage on the engine and 10% cargo damage seems like overkill.

But this is NOT the SCS forums and as such suggestions and bug reports are Taboo and should never be discussed on the steam forums.

Solution is simple, as posted in multiple other threads:
- don't drive full throttle
- reduce suspension stiffness
- increase suspension height

Problem fixed even with low front bumpers / bull bars.

Trucks just get damage based on hours. Could be? If it's happening repetitively and more than 1% per incident prob a mod conflict.

We already know it is caused by low bumpers, it has been discussed on the forum for quite some time. It is not normal wear and tear or mods.

It's the bullbar and the official SCS response (a furry dev) is "deal with it."

I also got 4% damage driving at 19 mph on a dirt road

What a stupid "feature" of the game.
