Unbelievable...
So I've been working on tweaking my settings, and I can't believe what few changes i have made could have such a tremendous impact on the game visually. After playing all these years my game has never looked better and run smoother.

First I doubled the game buffer....no more micro-stutter. Driving is so smooth now

Then I increased LOD on traffic and parked. No more "pop-in" details. Just a bit on landscaping but im fine with it.

Lastly, and probably most incredible....I installed SnowyMoon mod. Provides anti-aliasing and sharpness. You can use DLSS with Nvidia, but i thought DLAA was working better for me with a 3070. There are other options as well; TAA, DLAA, DLSS. There are some other things, but not sure what they are just yet. Only issue i have with SnowyMoon is a bit of ghosting, but i usually don't see it. I cannot believe how much this mod changed the game....hence the term "game changer".

I must admit i don't know much about programing and dlls etc, and hopefully SnowyMoon isn't causing me any other issues, but at least my ATS is almost perfect!

Anyhow....if you are not using SnowyMoon you probably should, but it's up to you. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with SnowyMoon nor do i know if it causes other issues, but so far so good.

Just thought I'd share this with you all.

Thank you Snowymoon for the mod. LIke i said ealier...it's a game changer!!!!

I don't know a lot of about graphics settings, but if I have a Nvidia 3070, should i be using DLSS or DLAA? I feel like DLAA is working better, but I have some ghosting when I look around. (I use track IR). DLSS has the less ghosting option. Should i be using that?

Thanks again!

DLAA is better for you, DLSS is for upscaling lower resolution. I released v9 version but its not available on website yet and it doesn't have DLSS/DLAA etc features. I will add to website when its stable and everything added

I don't believe the gt/gtx 1050 is capable of running DLSS nor DLAA. It may run the temporal AA, as thats not tensor specific.

I've been having some LOD issues since 1.49. Especially noticeable on trains just not loading... Is there anyway to increase the LOD draw distance directly from the game ? Pretty sure all my settings are already maxed out

Documents/American Truck Simulator/config.cfg file.

uset g_lod_factor_parked "5"
uset g_lod_factor_traffic "5"

Set these values to your choice, no higher than 10. I have mine set as above.

Keep in mind, that those settings only tell the game how far away to begin using the higher LOD models. These settings do nothing about how far away things are when they are rendered. Draw Distance is not something that can be altered by the player, whether through Options or config file settings.

LOD ≠ Draw Distance

If vehicles and other things seem to be suddenly appearing at close range, then you may have an issue with a lack of buffer space; memory used to pre-load assets to be ready for rendering.

Thanks, I'll see if this fixes the train lod issue !
