Any benefit to trucks with sleepers?
I just bought my first truck with a sleeper, all along I have been using day Cabs. The truck I bought has the same engine and transmission as the day cab I have been using but it seems like it has much less power, and the difference in turning radius is rediculous. So other than the look of it, is there any benefit to having a sleeper?

More fuel. No other real benefit other than the way it looks.

Since it's got a longer chassis it has a worse turning radius.

Not really, since the devs missed that oppertunity to add some gameplay.. But others stated longer wheel base so more fuel, but harder to turn in cities..

Anyone else notice a difference in power?

I think of the longer chassis as making the paking more fun. I run the W900 with sleeper.

I remember the old 18WoS games had a tachograph that would track your downtime and also whether you'd slept in a sleeper or hotel. I don't remember if that had any impact on the gameplay itself.

It's probably just heavier

It would be nice if you could just pull over to rest in the camper instead of finding a resting area.

Same here. I pulled over, parked and let myself doze off thinking eventually sleep would overtake me, it didn't. They make you drive while fatigued to find a rest stop. Have fun waking up to oncoming traffic. OMG, it's another truck!
If you could sleep wherever you like it would be cool but I think the designated stops add a degree of planning, or a degree of driving while asleep :B1:

Maybe we need an ATS Version of all the DashCam Videos on YouTube. :D

When are we going to get a mod that allows us to sleep on the side of the road in sleeper cabin?!

I think they missed a lot of chance to make this game a lot better. The whole situation with sleepers is one good example. There should definately be an advantage to buying a truck with sleeper other than the look and the extra fuel. As simple as making you pay for using rest stop if you dont have one, kind of like a hotel fee that can be saved, or giving you more rest for having a sleeper vs sleeping on the drivers seat or something like that

It is generally not allowed by law. You need to find at least parking area and still risk a ticket in many communities which usually do not allow sleeping in a parked car except in specifically designated areas. What we need is a mod to adjust sleep areas - Duty Cab can sleep at motels (for a charge of a room) and own garages, while sleepers have benefit of using any rest area (for free) and service stations.
