When do you sleep?
I just bought my first truck so I am adjusting from quick jobs to the open world. But I am finding it hard to schedule in sleeping. I usually sleep between jobs because I find it hard to find cargo that gives you enough time to be able to stop for 10hrs during the run.

Most cargo I see are expected in like 12-15 hours and have a travel time of 8-10.

Am I missing something? There must be loads that will allow you to take a break during the trip

I sleep at the end of jobs and usually try and sleep at night (I prefer driving during the day).

I never even look at the job market until after I wake up. At that point you should always have enough time to complete the trips, even if you do need to take a rest along the way.

there should be a time you can set instead of a fixed resting time. Would be much better. Or are truckers irl also forced to rest 10 hrs?

I sleep after each and every delivery, no matter how short the distance was.

The deadlines of your deliveries depend on the distance. Anything up to, say, 450 miles is supposed to get delivered without break (that`s why it is important to begin jobs after having slept). Anything beyond that includes time for a break, but even those are best accepted after having slept.

I just sleep whenever the guy yawns. I haven't noticed being late with my deliveries, but then again I prefer the long hauls.

Yes, we are required IRL by DOT to rest for 10 hours.

I sleep as soon as i finish a job. I prefer sleeping in daytime but thats just me. I much rather drive at night less moron drivers on the road. I never start a job without sleeping first.

If I'm far from the drop-off and need fuel, I'll get some Zzz too otherwise I don't [short trips]. I have dozed off twice while still driving and it's a little scary/exciting. I'd like to have a sleep anywhere option...you know park on the shoulder and sleep. I'm out of the way and I've seen it irl.

In the UK we have to take a 45min break after 4.5 hrs driving

I sleep when I'm done playing. I came here to truck.

I try not to exceed 8 to 10 hours in a session so it's still authentic. I even pull over and put the parking brake on when I get another beer or need to go to the bathroom. I don't go mega authentic and use a gatorade bottle (nowhere to throw it).

I drive until I can't. I start lookin for a place at the second yawn. I like night time driving and try and find runs from LA to Elko and back where I have large garages. I buy my gas cheap and can maintain high speed when in the desert at night due to low police presence.

I like the lack of traffic at night, but is it just me or do the headlights not really illuminate anything? If I don't use high beams all the time, I literally can't see more than 5-10 feet in front of the truck. Is that just me and my brightness settings?

Depends. I usually try to take new job right where previous ended. This is where I check how much do I have before I need to rest. If I can do a job before I need to rest, I take it and do it. If available jobs needs more time, I check if I have extra 10 hours for rest during the job. If not, I check Freight Market for suitable jobs nearby. If I find one, I rest during the job. If not, I just bobtail to the nearest motel/rest area and check for jobs after rest
