Truckers Logbook
I know truckers keep logbooks that chart all kinds of stuff, but I know very little details about them.

Would love to hear from some actual truckers about these logs. How extensive are they? What parts are law, and what is company enforced?

As much detail as you care to share would be appreciated. I am gonna start running a logbook for ATS, want to get a better feel for the actual thing.

The log is by law. It covers everything you have been doing work related. When you are driving, your stops and rest periods and when your working but not driving. My understanding from the drivers I've talked to(haven't drove in years) that it is all computerized now. So no more having two or more logs to do the Dot.

Quick search, didn't look close though but you can figure out what to look for now.

This comparable to something an actual driver would use? Pretty sure I could make this work for game if its close enough.

Looks like the paper logs I used to use.

Electronic logbooks will be mandatory for every US drivers in 2 years. Every Canadian or Mexican companies hauling in the US will also be regulated with electronic logbooks.

If I recall correctly, only trucks under 2007 won't need to comply to this rule. BUT, with all the emission regulations coming mandatory as well, it won't be that easy in the future for truckers that don't want to use the electronic book.

I am really not a fan of the E log...I often find the inconsistency of dispatch screwing me over and having to wait for my load for 6 hours....having me burn out my "on duty not driving" hours as opposed to it being "on duty driving" and now I am stuck "pedal to the metal' trying to make it back home and get that load back home on time so I can still be under my overall "on duty" hours...the govt is also telling me when I need to take a break and when I need to sleep as opposed to me having worked my body cycles...don't get into trucking it's not worth it anymore Syd...so instead of cracking down on the drivers that cheat their log book with heftier fines they are punishing the entire industry...

That's the government in general. Don't give a damn about anything other than its them controlling it.

Does anyone know the Cycle rules used ingame?
Setting up this 'Keep Trucking' app on my tablet. Think I can define a custom one, but havent played enough ATS to know the exact rule.

Well, turns out this app wont work for game...as it goes off system clock. No way to adjust it for gameplay it would seem.

But I did find paper logbooks that look basicaly like the app...$4 for 1000 pages. Will just get that and make copies.

I use keep Truckin app for my logbook. It's works better than trying to keep up with paper logs.

You talking about ingame or real life??

I couldnt get the 'Keep Trucking' app to ignore the tablets system clock, so it wants to go on real hours not game hours.

Would like to find some app to do it, but most are probably pegged to clock like thta so its more streamlined to use for actual truckers.

Probably not to many sim only truckers wanting to run logs lol.

Hmmm... Think there's enough truckers out there to make this an election issue?

Yes. Getting them to speak up is another thing.
