That was in 2013 so I guess there still early on with the idea.
Other than another way to review your stats and see screenshots, the main use of this is for accessing WoT Job Market contracts for delivery. But that is currently only available in ETS2 and is in development, presumably once they're happy with it, it will be rolled out to ATS as well.
The other cool thing if you register with WoT and link your games, is you can then customize the number plate on your truck and upload a custom profile pic for your driver.
What WoT needs is a section for creating your own competitions with friends (or public) for making deliveries in the shortest time possible with least amount of damage.
It has to be for the exact same delivery, same weight, same truck. No mods. But the driver is free to change the route as he/she sees neccessary.
Driving stats need to be saved on the WoT website for comparisons. Surely this all must be possible?

Re: your idea: I think some competition among drivers would be great. Comparing stats for the same run would be great. No mods would be difficult, though, since a lot of people use mods.
