Kinda old thread, but how is that ISB 6.7 on power?? I imagine pretty gutless since its the same engine in the rams

It's no hot rod Volvo D16, that's for certain. Although for an engine that's being choked with emissions randomness, it doesn't feel like it's working against itself as much as an equivalent Paccar I ran some years ago. I actually climbed a four mile, 2500 ft run empty at full speed this morning (passing cars in a truck FTW!). I've done the same run with a few thousand pounds on and bogged down to maybe ~45-50 mph? Come to think of it, about the only time I get bogged down to less than 40 mph loaded is when I get unlucky and end up stuck on a restricted lane climb behind a poorly maintained semi truck driven by someone who refuses to shift correctly. "Sorry, bud. You can't climb successfully at 1200 rpm with a 45000 lb load" (hehe, pet peeve)

If I remember correctly, it comes in variations from 250 to ~300some HP. Since mine's in a class 6 commercial truck that weighs about 16000 lbs empty (rather than a full-size pickup that might tip 6000-8000), I'd wager it's probably one of the higher power ones.

9.4

where do i discover my mpg?
Fixxxer Sep 14, 2016 @ 12:43am
I'm running a Kenworth T680 with modded engine and transmission. (Real Eaton fuller Ratios) and (Real Engines & Sounds). So it a Paccar MX13 500 with Eaton fuller Ultrashift VXP 18 speed gearbox with retarder. At the ratio of 3.55. 220 gallon fuel tank with high rise sleeper. I'm getting 6.2mpg consistantly out of this configuration. Which bearing in mind as a driver I tend to have a heavy right foot isn't too bad at all. Green band? Screw the enviroment I have a deadline to meet. The ratio I have chosen is for getting the torque to the drive axles to haul stuff rather than fuel economy. Going in the other direction a 3.05 ratio on the back makes for better fuel numbers at the expense of pulling power. I'd rather take small inclines in 17th than massage my eco credentials but each to their own.

The Paccar MX will get better fuel millage irl

I've got the W900L ARI Legacy sleeper mod, sitting on the 8x4 dual tire lift axle chassis, 400 gallon tanks. Powered by the CAT C18 700hp with a Spicer 14 and 3.20 rears. The lie-o-meter on the dash has been steady at 4.8 since day 1. Hammer down in the big hole the instant says 3.2, however I usually set cruise for 70 on the big road and just ride, like that on flat open highway the instant usually sits between 6.8 and 7.4. Plan on doing an actual distance ÷ fuel burn calculation today.

Power to weight ratio is a catch-all ain't it? Lol
