I have to say the w900 is hard to drive
The bulky engine in the front blocking the view. It's hard to keep in lane while turning. Could it be the reason why in real life, this kinda model become obsolete?

Also, can we have a patch that add a feature which we can modify the truck's horn? We can change bumper, change side mirrors and so on... why not change horn too? because the sound really doesnt fit the beast. I feel like i am driving a beast with a sissy voice.

this sound fits more

I downloaded a horn mod, made it sound much better.

Also, the hood is what makes the truck. It's not obselete in real life, the large hood is what sells that truck. It's harder to turn because of the longer wheel base. Just take the turns slower and you'll get used to it.

And adjust your seat. You can minimize that hood view with a few clicks of the seat adjuster. Love the truck, but I love all conventional style trucks over the new sloped nose ones which were done for aerodynamics mostly.

I just hate that I can't use the bigger stacks as it's impossible to see behind me. Especially when looking out the window and behind

I have drove a 379 pete a little longer than the w900 they both turn slow long wheel base is right you have to make extra wide turns with both trucks in real life.

It takes skill to handle the beast :P

Love the W900; let's be honest, the other 2 trucks may as well be identical aside from brand names. We need more of these big rigs

I had just posted this on another thread........

For those that are complaining about views of your backend, wide turn radius, and old/ugly:
1) It's a "trucker's truck" it's not for the light-hearted. It is for those who have skills.
2) It does have a longer wheel base but it rides nice and hauls A**!
3) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...........you had to have grown up with these "style" of trucks to understand :-)
4) When backing up, learn to use instinct and also helps to have the nice little convex mirrors below the main mirrors. ;-p
5) As we pilots say, "fly by the seat of your pants"!

This model is not obsolete, it is still in production.

Agreed! I learned real quick in the real world that your skill has to adapt to these longer wheelbase trucks. I miss my 379exhd

If you want a better steering you can download Improved Truck Physics from here http://www.modsats.com/improved-truck-physics-ver-1-1/

It is not obsolete though, it is still being produced. This truck is based on the currently produced model.

It is not hard to drive once you get use to it, it is a truck for the real trucker. This is what I think about when you say American trucks. Not those streamlined models. I am loving this truck and will be using it for a long time.

Awe man, I've been using this mod for two days now and I LOVE it! It makes turning the w900L and 389 so much easier.
jeremyj621 Feb 16, 2016 @ 7:09pm
The W900 definatly isn't for everybody. I like how it easily hauls even the heaviest loads, and I don't really have an issue with the wider steering (once I got used to it). The biggest issue I have with it is baking up since it has those exhaust stacks on the sides and a wider rear cab. I like the more aerodynamic trucks with the shorter wheelbase for the improved rear visibility.

Peterbuilt and Kenworth are both owned by Paccar... so yeah, they're pretty much identical in real life too! ;)

Thats what i love about this truck, its hard to drive, hard to look out of, taking a few goes at reversing cause i never change view and cant see ♥♥♥♥ lol

This is what i was waiting for with ETS2 that never came, its too easy to drive down a road, i want to have to take corners wide and wait for the AI to move out of the way
