Is it normal for G29 to "rattle" a little in the turns?
I just bought a G29 about a week ago and I am enjoying it very much.

But, I do have one question... Is it normal for the wheel to rattle a little in the turns? I have force feedback on at about 60%. I have adjusted it some up and down with the same effect (Wheel stiffins up in turns, but when you get to that point of not straight, but not in a hard turn, it just feels kinda jittery.

I can live with it, but if it is something that should not be happening, I need to know so I can contact the company for help.

I realize the controller is gear driven and not belt, so I am assuming it is the gears just rattling a bit.

I appreciate your help with this.

Thanks,

Yep. you can turn the shake down under "engine" in the force feedback settings. It doesn't shake when the wheel is centered because the gears are driven by 2 motors and the deadzone is in the center.

im not sure we have the same issue but mine 'clunks' pretty badly when im not moving very fast but turning the wheel a lot, reversing a trailer especially. Which setting needs to be changed to reduces this?

Good to hear that it is normal... (I can live with it)... I was worried I had a defective wheel.

It works fine going straight and has some nice stiffness in the turns.. its just that one spot between straight and tight turn that "rattles" a little.

Thanks so much for the feedback:)

are you using the logitech profiler? it has a centering spring option that if you reduce it will stop that rattle

I thought the same thing and it took an afternoon to figure out. I had "Engine" set to max and wondered why the truck ripped the wheel from my hand and went straight for the guardrail on an offramp in ETS2.

I have G25, not sure what Logitech changed in G29 in respect to FFB, but I always keep FFB settings low in profiler, about 40% for overall effects, 0% to springs and dampers, and 0% to centering spring but check to allow games to use it, and check to allow games to modify values. Everything else I set up in game menu. I like to have subtle FFB so I don't have to fight back

I am not sure what that is. I have the default Logitech Gaming Software installed. It just shows the controllers, buttons and a list of games (Funny thing is, ATS is not listed).

Is that profiler a different software?

I'm not sure, but I think G27/25 and G29 uses different software. G29 uses Xinput, G27 and 25 uses direct input. I have both logitech profilers in my rig cos I have a mouse that uses the new logitech profiler, but G27 uses the old piece of software.

Thanks for the help! I just bought the G29, and ATS makes this wheel rattle something awful. Turning down Engine FFB fixed that! I realize this is a thread necro, but this bit of advice helped a ton.

What is a necro?

Always good to get the shovel out and dig up old threads if it helps and I am glad it helped you with your wheel.
