Red Button on the Dash (Peterbuilt)
Whenever this light comes on, I can't move at all. I've no idea what it means, how it got there, or anything like that, and frankly...it's driving me mad. Just what is this, and what do I have to do to turn the light off?

PS: I KNOW it is not the parking brake, since that shows as a tiny red light on the bottom row at the base of the tachometer.

looks like a battery indicator of sorts. I could be wrong though, the engine is on when it comes on?

Looks like a battery to me.

Yes it is, but what do I have to do to get it fixed? Everything in teh vehicle is in top shape, so it can't be something like the random engine faults when you get damaged... And without fixing it I'm totally locked up it seems.

Thats either battery or engine light.

What is the trucks damage %??

Is it possible you stalled the engine? Usually when the ignition key is turned, but the engine is not running, you will see some indicator lights.

Try restarting the engine and see if light goes away. (From the looks of the gauges, RPM, the engine is off.)

SydKhaos - No damage (0% across the board, $0 listed as the cost).

XLRE - I had stalled out a fewtimes, in the past...but not in this instance.

Curiously, I think I solved it. I just had to cycle the engine a few times. Turning it off then back on fixed it. At least for now.
It might be the air pressure for the breaks being too low. I got that in one of my first deliveries (guess I was breaking too much) and I couldn't move. It kept telling me to leave the engine running to recharge it though and that did nonthing, had to skip the unloading to get out xD
Looking at the picture more clearly I think it was just the parking break for you (spacebar)

I thought as much as well, at first, Link. But since the engine never even came on (though all the lights etc on teh dash did), there was no way to refill the air tanks!

Besides, the very first thing I did to confirm it wasn't the air brake sim was to turn that off, check for the issue, then turn it back on.

No it wasn't the parking brake as I said. That is in the lower left under the tach, as I mentioned in teh first post. Never mind that you can actualyl crawl along with the brake engaged in 1st or 2nd gear with a sufficiently powerful engine...which I do have.

It's the battery light. It comes on when the key is on, but the alternator isn't charging the batteries.

In this case, your engine isn't running at all. Look at your tachometer. You're at 0 RPM. Start the engine, lol.

I really hope most of these people are not drivers. Its clearly the battery light. Its not getting charged, so be glad you dont have to buy real batteries because you are draining yours. Would be a cool mechanic though.

Have you just got your electricity on only? That red symbol, only appears when you've just got the electric on, but not the engine. The Symbol also appears when you've stalled.

These trucks have HUGE batteries....it would take literaly days without the engine on to kill the battery if fully charged.
I had my wifes old minivan running off a motorcycle batterie for 3 days with no alternator...they last longer than youd think.

Thank you, that understand. i grew up in a heavy equipment family. Semis were slightly important. He said its on constantly, IE the light is on a lot. Therefore he would drain his batteries still.

Zero RPM, zero oil pressure. Engine is obviously off, with key on. OP likely won't be back, because he is so embarrassed at this point, he'll likely give up gaming all together, and become a monk.
